Where Can You See Fireworks in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn?

Updated: July 4, 2024

Can you see the fireworks from the 69th Street Pier in Bay Ridge?

Some years, you could see the Macy’s Fireworks from the 69th Street Pier, but in 2024, the fireworks returned to the Hudson and the barges are too far up, so they say most of Brooklyn will not see them.

Years ago, we went to the pier and people who were at the end of the pier cheered because they saw fireworks from Manhattan.

If you are are further back on the pier or you are on the Shore Road Bike Path, you will see fireworks from across the water in Staten Island or Jersey.

1) You will see amazing fireworks in Coney Island:

Do not take your car to Coney Island or you will just sit in traffic – use the train.

Coney Island Fireworks are at 9:45 pm and are amazing! You can stand anywhere on the Boardwalk from West 10th Street to West 23rd Street to see the show!

2) A rooftop in DUMBO:

a) Fornino rooftop pizzeria on Pier 6 at Brooklyn Bridge Park (here)

b) Harriet’s Rooftop at 60 Furman Street – $60 a person (here)

3) Cruise ships are having parties. Tickets are $70 – $250.00 tickets here

**If you are going to one of the piers in Manhattan, go early because they close them off around 6:30 or 7:30 pm (like they do in Manhattan on New Years Eve).

4) Last year, we walked around Dyker Heights for some unofficial fireworks. They put on a good show!

3rd Avenue and 74th Street had the sky lit up in 2023.

5th Avenue in the 80’s in Bay Ridge had a huge display last year

Saint Anselm’s Parking Lot – 82nd Street and 4th Avenue

Dyker Heights – around 82nd and 83rd Street and 13th Avenueamazing fireworks on these two blocks

12th Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue

12th Avenue – from 75th Street to 79th Street

13th Avenue and 71st Street

15th Avenue and 78th Street

79th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues – impressive display

79th Street between 10th and 11th

73rd and Ft. Hamilton – wow in 2023!

Bay 41st Street – huge display

I saw photos of this Brooklyn artist’s work on on Facebook. That wooden flag is beautiful! (More photos here) You can contact Matthew here.

Matthew also has these cool bottle openers (pictured below) for $25- $30 and I thought – wow that would make a nice gift for a beer drinker. (Father’s Day?)

I don’t know Matthew – I just like his unique art.

Community Board 10 Voted ‘No’ on the High School on May 15th. Why Are Mailings from Brannan’s Office in June Saying the Opposite?

On May 15th, Community Board 10 voted down the high school on Ovington Avenue because there were many unanswered questions.

Councilman Justin Brannan sent out the above card this week – it’s June! Is Councilman Brannan ignoring the many concerns of Community 10?

The location is terrible for a high school because there are other schools with elementary school children are on the block (see red arrows below). The high school location is marked with a yellow arrow below.

Community leaders gave the School Construction Authority other locations, but they did not hear back. CB 10 wants an annex to help Fort Hamilton High School with their large population. In addition, they pointed out that a high school is needed on the other side of District 20 – not here.

It’s weird Justin Brannan would keep mentioning schools because the deal that went down at the Nathan’s school was HORRIBLE.

Brannan should be embarrassed that lobbying happened in our community. (See here) NYC paid $25 million for that property. (Info)

Even stranger is that Councilman Brannan didn’t tell Community Board 10 that 8808 – 5th Avenue was owned by the same man who flipped the Nathan’s property.

He made $21 million dollars on 8808- 5th Avenue. (See here) It’s incredible that one man made $46 Million Dollars on two properties in Bay Ridge and no one reported about the second sale being by the same owner.

The location for a school on 88th and 5th Avenue is strange because PS 264 is down the next block on 88th Street and 4th Avenue. One Community Board 10 member knew the school shared that the school was not full. (See here)

I wish Justin Brannan would stop wasting our tax dollars on inaccurate mailings.

Milk and Honey Coffee Shop Opening in Bay Ridge – The Pink Building on 3rd Ave & 94th St.

This storefront on 3rd Avenue and 94th Street has been empty for years.

First Lillian was written on the front window.

Now the words: Milk and Honey are on the window. Milk and Honey is a great coffee shop in Midwood. (See here)

On March 11, 2024, the new owners of Milk and Honey shared that they will be announcing a soft opening soon!

I love the beautifully painted pink building – it looks so fresh and clean!

This coffee shop is across the street from Oishi. Years ago this building was a corner grocery and vegetable store.

Coney Island’s New Wonder Wheel Ale

Coney Island Brewery showed off their Wonder Wheel IPA!

IPA stands for India Pale Ale – ipa’s are more bitter than lager beer because they contain more hops. IPA’s usually have a citrus or fruity note to it.

Coney Island Brewery has a lot IPA’s that people who like beer love to try. (See here)

The Wonder Wheel IPA is also available at Deno’s Famiglia Pizzeria on the Boardwalk and at Nathan’s next to the Wheel.
