June 15, 2023Anna Belfiore-Delfaus With the Seniors at Prom!

It’s great to see Anna Belfiore-Delfaus at the NIA Senior Prom, which was held at Dyker Beach Golf Course this week.
Peter Abbate used to fund and attend this event, but now that he isn’t in office, it’s good that other politicians want to celebrate the seniors. I don’t recall seeing Republicans attend the prom and dance with the seniors.

Anna Belfiore-Delfaus is a special education teacher. While politicians argue about whether to have gifted education classes or not, Anna will be able to remind them that gifted education is part of special education. As a teacher, she can recommend how to make the admission process fair for everyone.

In April, I was impressed when Anna got up and spoke to the developers at the meeting for the oversized development on 86th Street. (Info here) She is an excellent speaker and passionate about Brooklyn. Anna spoke about the overcrowding in schools. Councilman Justin Brannan did not attend the meeting or send someone to speak on his behalf.

June 15, 2023Avery Pereira Spoke Out for Victim’s Rights

While NYS continues to make bills, like Clean Slate, Avery Pereira spoke about introducing the “Victims Bill of Rights” legislation. What a great idea to balance what is happening in NYS. Everyone feels terrible for the victims who are hearing that criminals who harmed them/or their families (in cases where people have been murdered) will be entitled to a Clean Slate if Kathy Hochul signs the legislation.
Avery also spoke out about parent’s right’s this week:
