NYPD Arrested 5 suspects for operating a stolen vehicle. NYC, Verrazano Bridge, upper level ?

Elect Politicians Who Will Help the Homeless on the R Train in Bay Ridge
You have seen this man on this blog before – he has the purple NYU bag, but he isn’t moving into a dorm.
These people are caught in the R train loop.
These homeless men ride the train to the last stop at 95th Street in Bay Ridge every day. Then they make the return ride back to Manhattan.
Gounardes and Brannan will not help them. Please elect new people.

RIP Shanti Joyner – Staten Island Mother
Shanti Joyner was only 18 years old. This Staten Island mother was killed in Brooklyn around 3:30 am on Friday, August 18th.
The crash occurred on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Court Street in Cobble Hill
“Kashawn Croswell, 25, faces charges for manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and leaving an accident.” (Source)
Shanti’s 32-year-old sister was also charged by the police for driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle, and driving while impaired by alcohol. (Source)
This accident is horrific and this family must be going through a lot – please pray for them.
Update: The paper reported that residents have complained about this street for years. Now the police set up a checkpoint there. (Source)

Don’t Like Ebikes on Shore Road Bike Path?
I don’t think the problem is the ebikes – it’s the delivery mopeds and scooters that are speeding on Shore Road and scaring people who are enjoying an afternoon in the park.
Many people complained to Justin Brannan and he has done nothing. Brannan voted for the legislation to allow ebikes and scooters. (See here and here)

Yes, I know they probably don’t care, but once in awhile you get lucky and the right person sees it.

11-Year-Old Brooklynite Sings National Anthem
Scarlett London Diviney is an 11-year-old from Bay Ridge sang the National Anthem at MetLife Stadium before a Giants Game on Friday, August 18th.
At the end of July, she performed at a Cyclones Game. (See video)
This past Winter, Scarlett was also in The Lion King on Tour. (See her Instagram)
