What’s strange is why didn’t the President of the United States know that he didn’t have the power to do that? Even Nancy Pelosi knew:

Green aphid on a leaf. Credit…nechaevkon/Shutterstock

Aphids are the tiny flies that are in swarms in certain areas of Bay Ridge for two weeks now. (NYT article)

They come due to warm weather. The New York Times believes the smoke may be a factor, but other articles say they are present where there is warm weather and humidity.

These bugs don’t bite.

If they are on your plants, put a few tablespoons of Dawn dish detergent into a spray bottle of water and spray your plants.

Homeless Riders on the R Train – Justin Brannan Does Not Care

The forgotten people at the Bay Ridge 95th Street R train – they ride the train into Bay Ridge and back to Manhattan hoping to get some sleep.

Last Summer, Andrew Gounardes and Justin Brannan told us these people were receiving help. But they didn’t.

They are all doing better than this man on the D train this morning. He doesn’t even have shoes on!

If these were your family members, you would want someone to help them.

Gounardes Failed to Get Money to Fix the R Train

Often we see Andrew Gounardes standing in photos where an announcement is being made.

During the year, I caught Gounardes sharing messages from a group called Rider’s Alliance. Each message spoke about six minute service at train stations. Not one person in Bay Ridge questioned Gounardes when everyone knows the R train doesn’t even have 15 minute service!

Richer parts of Gounardes’ district will get train upgrades. The G, J and M train will receive a $35 million upgrade at Hoyt-Schemerhorn station.

Irronically, Gounardes had a fundraiser three minutes away from the Hoyt-Schemerhorn station in the first week of January.

In January, we couldn’t figure out why he was having another fundraiser when he had plenty of money form the November election. (See here)
