A Lot of Revel Scooters in Bay Ridge Recently

Revel is a electric scooter sharing company. Recently, Bay Ridge is seeing a lot of these bikes on the streets.

Around JJ Carty Park, multiple parking spots are taken by the construction company working at the park. Now Revel scooters are taking up spots. I wonder who Revel lobbied?

How is a private company able to use public parking spots? We saw this happen before with Get Around Car Sharing (and years ago by Cars2Go). Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso was lobbied. (See here)

Community Board 10 had a meeting and ONLY Get Around Car Sharing company presented. (Info) The California company received several permanent parking spots in our community, even though they had never had a car-sharing company in NYC!

Why didn’t Community Board 10 reject the car sharing companies because Bay Ridge already has at least two car sharing companies that paid rent (at the old Century’s Parking lot). (Info)

Community Board 10 should have revealed that Reynoso was lobbied (See here) and that Senator Andrew Gounardes supported GetAround. (See video of Senator Gounardes)

There is no one standing up for Bay Ridge! Elect new people.

Why Is The Motive for the Brick Throwing at Senator Iwen Chu’s Office a Secret?

A forty-two year old man, Mou Hu was arrested for alledgedly throwing the bricks through the senator’s window, but they haven’t said what charges he will face. (Info here)

Usually when a crime is committed in Bay Ridge, the police or Justin Brannan will quickly release that the crime was targeted or “done by an EDP” within hours of the crime happening. (EDP- Emotionally Disturbed Person).

Yesterday, I realized it must have been targeted and 1010 Wins wrote that this incident appeared to be targeted. (Info)

What’s Mou Hu’s beef with Senator Chu or her staffer? Why is it being kept a secret?

Mou Hu was charged with a felony count of criminal mischief. (Source)

Whale Seen Near the Verrazano Bridge

Picture from Ralph’s Video

Ralph Pepe’s video of the whale near the Verrazano Bridge made the news. (See here)

Lower volume before playing (profanity due to the surprise)

In January a 35-foot humpback whale was washed ashore at Lido Beach in Nassau County. (See here) It was hit by a boat.

Last Fall, nine humpback whales were seen in the Hudson River. (See video)

Weed Has Been Sold Illegally in Bay Ridge for Over a Year. Today Brannan Says He is Going to Do Something

Today, Justin Brannan commented about the illegal weed shops on social media. (See here) It was strange to see his comment because Brannan failed to do anything about the illegal weed shops for over a year!

In 2021, Senator Andrew Gounardes voted in favor of legalizing marijuana without making sure there was a plan in place to begin this program in NYC. (See bill)

Last Spring, smoke shops opened all over our neighborhood and started to sell cannabis. Justin Brannan and Andrew Gounardes did nothing. Their base wants to buy cannabis. In March, Councilman Brannan responded “One Love” to this comment:

Some Bay Ridge residents went into the smoke shops and investigated. They were shocked that stores were selling cannabis and edibles, even though they didn’t have a license. As a result, a few stores were closed for the day, but opened the following day. (See here)

Some young teens were able to purchase weed in Bay Ridge because of Andrew Gounardes’ carelessness. It has to be very tempting for children because these shops are all over the neighborhood. In November 2022, the Captain of the 68th Precinct said there were 22 shops in this area. (See here)

A few smoke shops were raided, but most still remain open.

In June, Kathy Hochul told us that she was going to have the stores selling cannabis illegally fined and the landlords of these shops fined as well. (Source) We haven’t seen her have any stores closed in our neighborhood since Governor Hochul’s announcement.

Unfortunately, police officers don’t have a tool to measure how high someone is when there is a car accident. The police can check how much alcohol someone consumed with a breathalyzer test.

At this beginning of this month, Andrew Gounardes moved his office out of this neighborhood.

In November, please vote Justin Brannan out of office for gaslighting our community.

Tire Slasher on Ft. Hamilton Parkway + 90’s

Overnight, a man was on Fort Hamilton Parkway from 92nd Street to 95th Street slashing tires.

Almost twenty cars had their tires slashed. One resident shared that her father-in-law had all four tires slashed. The video of the man shown above was turned over to the police.

7/16 Update: This was not mentioned by any politician. Is it because they don’t know or they don’t care?

Shohsaroy Restaurant Opened on 3rd Avenue

Shohsaroy Restaurant opened at 7316 3rd Avenue. They serve food from Uzbekistan.

This location is where Catrina’s used to be, so they did a lot to renovate the place. (Before Catrina’s, this was Longbow. Bay Ridge residents added: Before Longbow it was Canedo’s. And before that it was The Diane Shop.)

Good luck to the new owners.

Senator Iwen Chu’s Window Was Broken

Update: A man was arrested by the NYPD.

The windows to Senator Iwen Chu’s office at 6605 Fort Hamilton Parkway were broken. If you witnessed this, call the NYPD or call the tip line at 800-577-TIPS.

The NYPD is outside now trying to protect the office.

Senator Chu has only had this office a short time, as it took her several months to open an office. Yes, this is the same office as her former boss, Peter Abbate.

Senator Chu went to social media to share about this crime. She wrote that a man threw bricks through the window. Her staff was not hurt.

No one should have to worry about crime while living or working in their community. Iwen Chu has been silent about the crimes happening to people in her district.

Chris McCreight Blocks Comments As He Tries to Collect Money

As a District Leader, Chris McCreight’s only job was to help qualified Democrats to run for office in the 46th District.

McCreight has failed to do this job!

In January, Anthony Batista Perez filed to run against Justin Brannan. Anthony Batista Perez worked in Assemblywoman Frontus’ office and lives in Coney Island. As a district leader, Chris McCreight should have welcome Batista Perez.

When I wrote about it on social media, Mark Hanna, the 64th District said Batista-Perez didn’t write that he was a candidate for NYC Council in his Twitter or Instagram profile, so he wasn’t considered a candidate. (See here) Yet, Anthony Battista Perez had filed to run and let Justin Brannan know that he was running.

Chris McCreight and the other district leaders including Tori Burhans Kelly and Joe Bove didn’t step in to welcome Batista Perez.

Last month, we saw Chris McCreight, Tori Burhans Kelly, Joe Bove, Andrew Gounardes, Justin Brannan and the Bay Ridge Democrat pushing Wai Yee Chan, a politician from Queens, onto the new Asian District in Brooklyn.

Wai Yee Chan was trounced by Susan because residents weren’t interested in Chris McCreight’s friend from Queens!

Wai Yee Chan won in the areas that are green, while Susan Zhuang won the majority in gold.

McCreight actually hurt Brooklyn by presenting his friend, instead of promoting residents that lived in this area. Why is McCreight a district leader, if he isn’t helping Democrats in Brooklyn?

Last May, Democrats in our area sued a woman named Sabrina who was running as a District Leader in Bay Ridge when she did not live here. A district leader doesn’t have a salary. A City Council representative makes a good salary. We should have seen other district leaders speak out against the Queens politician.

Yesterday, McCreight was on Twitter asking for money for his campaign.

Cowardly, McCreight turned off comments on his tweet because he didn’t want people in the neighborhood to comment on him being silent, as lobbyists have run projects in Bay Ridge! (See here)

Years ago, Chris McCreight spoke out on social media about politicians being influenced by lobbyists. Now he no longer does.
