6) Alyson Nicole at 278 – 87th Street is having a sale (up to 70% off some items) from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.

7) NYC Teens for Animals will have a pop up cat adoption event at My Natural Pet Store at 8318 – 5th Avenue from 2 to 5 pm.

8) Help decorate Holy Cross Church in Bay Ridge

10) The Rigbees will play at Hunter’s Steak and Ale House at 9404 – 4th Avenue starting at 5:00 pm.

11) St. Philip’s Church Tree Lighting at 5:00 pm at 1072 – 80th Street – sing carols!

12) Sean Kershaw and the Brooklyn Bluegrass All Stars will play at Delias Lounge at 9224 – 3rd Avenue at 7:30 pm.

Monday, December 2, 2024

1) The 3rd Avenue Merchants will have a tree lighting outside of Foodtown from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Performances. hot chocolate and snacks, grinch and wreath contest. Free.

Tuesday, December 3, 2024

1) Cousins Maine Lobster Truck will be on 86th Street between 4th and 5th Avenue from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm. (The truck parks outside the Children’s Place or Chase). People like their lobster rolls.

2) PC’s Bar at 7215 5th Avenue has BINGO from 3:30 – 6:30 pm.

3) Christmas Tree Lighting at John Paul Jones Park on 101st Street and 4th Avenue at 6:00 pm. Music, Santa and light refreshments. Free.

Wednesday, December 4, 2024

1) The Living Nativity outside of at St. Patrick’s Church on 4th Avenue and 96th Street from 12:45 – 2:15 pm. Free.

2) Owl’s Head Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:00 pm. Music, snacks and gifts for the children. Owls Head Park is on 68th Street between Colonial Rd. and Shore Road. Free.

3) Senator Andrew Gounardes is having a tree lighting in Dyker Park on 86th Street and 14th Avenue at 6:00 pm. I guess he didn’t want to go to one of the tree lightings so he overbooked (see event above). Free.

4) BINGO at Schnitzel Haus at 7319 – 5th Avenue at 7:00 pm.

5) Karaoke at The Leif Bar at 8:00 pm.

8) Sunset Park Tree Lighting – 60th Street and 5th Avenue from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. Free. Pictures with Santa.

9) Belle Harbor Yacht Club Holiday Boutique at 533 Beach 126th Street in Belle Harbor from 6:00 – 10:00 pm.

9) George Pettignano will be at Sofia’s Restaurant – 3rd Avenue. Call for a reservation.

H-Bond Coffee is opening at 479 – 72nd Street on Friday, November 29th. The shop is on 72nd Street – off 5th Avenue (two storefronts from the corner). It’s looks very nice!

Pet Adoption in Bay Ridge or Around Brooklyn

• Sean Casey Animal Rescue – We got our cat from here and he is the sweetest cat in the world. He gets along well with our dogs. Fun place to visit and see how many pets he has and are well cared for.  dogs for adoption    cats for adoption    other pets 4 adoption    (he often has gerbils and hamsters too). Sean Casey also needs people to provide foster care for pets (temporary homes before they get adopted – some pets don’t like being in the shelter).

Two Bad Accidents – Belt Pkwy and Bridge

People are driving crazily today!

There were two bad accidents today – one on the Belt Parkway and the other on the Verrazzano Bridge. Prayers for the people involved.

1) Around 4:30 pm, there was a five car accident on Belt Parkway yesterday east bound.

(Around noon, there was an accident futher out on the Belt – see video)

2) Right before 9:00 pm, there was a serious accident on the Verrazzano Bridge with an overturned vehicle. The two lanes on the lower level of the bridge were closed. BRAVO volunteer ambulance from our area responded and shared this photo and information:

“Bravo’s crew was on hand tonight to respond to a multi-vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision involving an overturned vehicle on the lower level of the Verrazzano Bridge. BRAVO and ambulances from NYU Langone-Brooklyn and Staten Island University Hospital transported 5 patients to area hospitals. While tending to these patients, a separate accident occurred on the opposite side of the roadway resulting in three addition patients.”

ANOTHER ACCIDENT:

Ridgites shared that a man was hit near the entrance of the bridge. He was laying in the crosswalk. An ambulance came fast and the man talked to the medics as they placed him in an ambulance.

Restaurants Give Back During Thanksgiving Week

Every year, Skinflints makes Thanksgiving dinner for seniors. This year they delivered 120 meals – amazing!!
