Wheels Stolen on Honda in Bay Ridge
A Honda parked on Shore Road and 93rd Street in Bay Ridge had its wheels stolen last night. Anup shared these photos.
We feel terrible for the owner, who had to walk up to their car resting on crates.

In Borough Park, They Will Search For You If You Rob Nurses at the Subway Station
On Tuesday, October 8th, two nurses were followed by a man to the train station. He assaulted them and stole their phones.
This story has a good ending because the Shmira stepped in, checked the surveillance cameras, found the suspect and had the 66th Precinct officers take the man into custody! The Shmira is a volunteer patrol in Borough Park. (See the video) (See the pictures) (See the story)

68th Pct Community Council Meeting 10/16
The October meeting of the 68th Precinct Community Council will be held on Wednesday, October 16th at 7:00 pm at the Bay Ridge Center at 15 Bay Ridge Avenue. This is a different location than usual.
The guest speaker will be Senior District Attorney Serge Marts from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, who will be presenting on the topic of Elder Financial Abuse.

Also, they will welcome Acting Commanding Officer (CO) Captain Dasaro to the 68^th Precinct.

On Wednesday, October 16th, shop at participating merchants on Third Avenue in Bay Ridge to raise funds for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in honor of #Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Women ages 40-75 can get a free mammogram in the truck that will be parked outside of Charmed by JLM at 8311 – 3rd Avenue from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm (as long as you have not had a mamogram in the last 12 months.) Call to reserve a spot: 877-628-9090.

Alpine Cinema in Bay Ridge Renovated Theater 8
Alpine Cinema at 6817 – 5th Avenue shared they they renovated Theater 8.
They wrote: “We are thrilled to welcome you to our newly renovated theater 8, offering enhanced comfort, state-of-the-art sound and visuals, and a luxurious atmosphere for the ultimate movie experience.”
Their current movie list (see here) does not say which movies are being shown in Theater 8, but you can call them and ask. 718-748-4200

Cebu Restaurant Requested Two Sidewalk Cafes and Two Roadside Cafes From CB 10
At Community Board 10’s Committee Meeting this week, Cebu Restaurant at 8801 – 3rd Avenue requested two sidewalk cafes and two roadside cafes.
Cebu has to reduce the length of their roadside cafe as NYC changed the requirements for outdoor seating.
Cebu is a fantastic restaurant and their outdoor setup is beautiful on 3rd Avenue.
Is there enough space for the sidewalk cafe and for residents to pass with wheelchairs and strollers as well?
CB 10’s slides showed there will be less tables and less chairs on both the sidewalk seating and the roadside cafe.
While the outdoor seating is nice for the community and for this restaurant, the sidewalk on 3rd Avenue is very busy on a Saturday night and the tables should be limited on the sidewalk.
A few members of CB 10’s committee voted against the sidewalk cafe seating, but the majority did not. The full vote will happen at the next CB 10 meeting on Monday, October 21st at The Bay Ridge Center at 15 Bay Ridge Avenue at 7:00 pm.
The residents on 88th Street or anyone in Bay Ridge should attend the CB 10 meeting, if they have anything to add to this outdoor seating discussion.

Terina, the Modern Italian Restaurant is Having a Grand Opening in 2025 in Bay Ridge
Terina, a modern Italian Restaurant is having a grand opening at 8424 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge on November 30th at 5:30 pm.
Terina’s shared a picture of their bar and the dining room. It looks beautiful!
Terina’s is going to have live music, hosted events, and access to our speakeasy styled lounge. There will be a limited membership with special perks available.
Congratulations to the owners of Terina! Everyone is excited about the opening!
This location used to be Baci Restaurant and before that, the iconic Areo Restaurant.

Dancing Visitor in Dyker & Bensonhurst Yards
Between 11:00 pm and 4:00 am, some residents in Dyker Heights and Bensonhurst have seen a visitor walking around in their backyard on their video footage.
This tall man with a beard is carrying a bag of tools into Brooklynite’s backyards. The video footage shows him dancing while he peers into people’s windows.
