If the Halloween Event at Owls Head Park is for Andrew Gounardes and Chris McCreight to Campaign – Why Are Our Tax Dollars Being Used?

Today was a Halloween event for children and their parents in Owls Head Park.

Why was Councilman Justin Brannan’s staffer giving out palm cards about Andrew Gounardes and Chris McCreight at the event? Even the photojounalist sees how intrusive this is at the event. (See here)
Look a little closer – the man holding the child is Senator Andrew Gounardes – so he is aware she is using a community event to disseminate election information.

This is why nothing in life is free – the people thought they were at the park to have fun with their child, instead they are at a political event.

Years ago, Bay Ridge had this conversation. Back then, these politicians asked the same questions to the former Senator. If this is a political event, why isn’t Andrew Gounardes and Chris McCreight using their campaign funds to pay for the event rather than our tax dollars? Why not tell people it’s a campaign event? This way parents can choose if they want to attend a political event.
Why didn’t any good Democrats step up and tell Kayla to stop electioneering and bothering the parents?

October 27, 2024Donate Your Old Coat, Bay Ridge – Elliot’s Goal is 10,000 Coats This Year!

Elliot Lamboy has been collecting used coats in Bay Ridge for seven years.
When Elliot first started collecting “Coats for the Cold,” Elliot would share the message and then go around the neighborhood and pick up the coats himself.
Over the years, Elliot increased his goal and his network of angels helping him get to his goal increased as well!
The donated outerwear is brought to shelters in the area. We have also seen share photos of a vehicle packed with coats that were brought to NY’ers whose building had a fire.
Bay Ridge, check your closets for jackets you no longer need and then contact Elliot (here) or email [email protected]

Abbate’s mailer said, “Who’s ruining our community?” Abbate left out Iwen Chu. We found out this week that Iwen Chu didn’t share information that she received from NYC about the homeless shelter.

October 27, 2024Two More Rapes in the 68th Precinct – 12 This Yr

Twelve rapes within the 68th Precinct the year. There have been twelve rapes so far this year – up from seven at this time last year. Rape is up 71% from 2023.
You can see this information yourself. (Here)

On October 17th, a rape was reported on 71st Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway at 11:00 pm.
On October 16th, a rape was reported on 9th Avenue and 63rd Street at 2:00 pm.
Have these rapists been caught?
The topic of rape is not one that male politicians or even the female captain at the 68th Precinct could speak about, so nothing is being done. Yes, you can speak about the crime without revealing any personal information about the victim. We know Justin Brannan doesn’t know how to do this because he has said providing information would violate someone’s privacy, but Andrew Gounardes is silent and the 68th Precinct are not providing the community information.

October 27, 2024Trump Rally at MSG Today – Truth Vs. Reality

Today, there will be a rally for Donald Trump at Madison Square Garden. Channel 4 News said that 19,000 people are expected. (Reality: A lot more people showed up and waited outside)
Eric Adams said Trump is not a fascist. (Source)
There was a planned counter-rally – it was very small.

People on social media said they registered for the Trump rally, but weren’t attending, so there would be empty seats. (Reality: that didn’t work.)

Thankfully, everyone is peaceful and no one got hurt.

October 27, 2024What Justin Brannan Didn’t Tell Us About the Ballot Propositions…

Councilman Justin Brannan sent out a large mailer about the propositions that are on the back of the ballot. Brannan and other council members have blamed the mayor for these “power grab” propositions.

What Councilman Brannan failed to say was that both Max Rose and Carlo Scissura were on the Charter Revision Committee that made these bills. Scissura was the chairman of the committee. (Source) Bay Ridge residents know Scissura from the Nathan’s deal. (See here)
Proposition 1 is written so poorly that people don’t know what to do with it. Why didn’t politicians rewrite the bill so it was clear. It’s supposed to be about abortion, but the word abortion isn’t in the bill.

October 26, 2024Senator Iwen Chu Thought She Could Fool Brooklyn – STAND UP BROOKLYN – VOTE!

This week, a publication wrote about Iwen Chu’s new bill about hotels. The journalist left out something very important.

Iwen Chu accepted $5000 from the NY Hotel Trades Council Commission at the end of September this year. The journalist failed to include this. This information is made public for people and journalists to check politicians. (NYS site) See here:

That bill probably will never be voted on because money controls the politicians:

While it is fine for the senator to speak at the shelter, Chu’s chief-of-staff was disrespectful for trying to shame Brooklynites who have been fighting for their community. (See video)

Chu’s Deputy Chief-of-Staff, Lenny Markh yelled “Shame on You” at the people protesting outside the shelter location this week. Why? Because he doesn’t live here and he doesn’t care. This article shows he is from Redhook. (Source)

Why didn’t Lenny Markh share NYC’s letter about the homeless shelter on Iwen Chu’s website last November? Why didn’t Markh work with the politicians and protesters to help in this situation?

When Chu’s staffer started yelling at the residents, she should have stopped him. They are grandmothers and grandfathers and no one should be belittling them for fighting for their community.
Iwen Chu walked away smiling. (See video)

Iwen Chu got a photo to go with the story that the press will carry. (See article – you can choose English at the top right) Many people in the area read that….so please share this information on WeChat so they have the whole story.
By now, Iwen Chu has to realize that poor communication and failure to act for the community are reasons to vote her out.
Last November, Iwen Chu received the letter about the homeless shelter below and she failed to share it with the community. This letter was for the community, not for Chu to withhold.

At the end of this Summer, Iwen Chu realized the community was fighting and she wasn’t there with them.
Senator Iwen Chu could have stood up and asked for a different type of shelter or should could have asked for real housing for families in need. Instead, this shelter will have 150 men. After Covid, this community realized they can’t be quiet because they are being ignored and safety is not a concern (remember in 2020 this community was where a grandmother was lit on fire and not one politician took action – (See here)
