New Pot Shop Coming to 3rd Avenue Between 94th and 95th Street
Tonight at Community Board 10’s Police and Public Safety meeting, they announced that Cannalicious LLC at 9415 – 3rd Avenue is shown as being Active on NYS’s list.
Community Board 10 did not receive a notice from Cannalicious for this location. This dispensary did try to open in Bay Ridge before, but that location was within 1000 feet of Kaya Bliss, so they couldn’t sest up there. CB 10 sent a letter to the Office of Cannabis Management.
This location used to be Shore Road Hair Styling, where Joe and Dennis cut Ridgites hair for years. (Info)

Movie Filmed in Bay Ridge – On Amazon Prime
Hilda shared that the movie, A Brooklyn Love Story was filmed in Bay Ridge and is available on Amazon Prime now.
They filmed at Bridge Pharmacy’s location (after the pharmacy had closed). You will see it at three minutes into the movie – it’s the vegetable store that the father works at.

Community Board 13 in Coney Islands Can’t Find a Place to Hold a Vote About the Casino In Front of the Public on January 15, 2025

Community Board 13 will have a committee vote about the casino proposed for Coney Island. And the community is invited to watch by Zoom – that’s not right.
Zoom was for use during the pandemic, when people couldn’t be together. Important votes to be done with the community present.

Cereal Drive for Grandma’s Love – For Families in Our Community
Grandma’s Love is an amazing organization in our community. They pack bags of food and send it home with children, whose families may need a little help.
The Parent Association at MS 407 (the school at the Nathan’s location) is having a cereal drive for Grandma’s Love. This is a great idea because cereal stores well and most children like cereal!
Do you want to help families in our community?
You can stop by and drop off cereal at the school on 86th Street and 7th Avenue.
I know I am not going to remember to do that, so I sent cereal from Amazon to MS 407’s Parent Association at 650 – 86th Street Brooklyn, NY 11228. (Delivery time from M-F 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.)

Two-Alarm Fire in Bath Beach, Brooklyn

Around 4:15 pm, there was a serious fire at 2015 Cropsey Avenue, next to the gas station on 20th Avenue.
Ying Tan was there and said no one was hurt. She shared photos (here)

Get $15 at Wonder’s Soft Opening 1/27 – 1/29 in Bay Ridge. The Grand Opening is on 1/30
Wonder, the new restaurant on the corner of 5th Avenue and 75th Street will have a soft opening from Monday, January 27th – Wednesday, January 29th. (Info about Wonder)
You can register for the soft opening and receive $15.00 off your meal (Register here – the meal times for the 29th are on the next page).
I’ve eaten at another Wonder in NYC – they make very good salads. (See their salads here)

Wonder’s grand opening will be held on January 30th starting at 5:00 pm.
They will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:00 pm. The first 100 people in line, who downloaded the Wonder app will get a free meal (up to $15.00).
They will have some free samples. There will also be a prize where with Wonder swag, like keychains, bags and some food items.
Many Ridgites are curious what this new eatery will be like. Some people are not happy about this chain eatery coming to Bay Ridge – it’s one less empty storefront for our community. It’s also a place that families with picky eaters will enjoy.
And if you are a restaurant that is worried you are losing business to Wonder, make a new soup – take a photo and put it on Instagram around 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Our area lacks variety in soups and salads.

The 68th Precinct Made an Arrest on Ft. Hamilton Parkway – GO NYPD!
Tonight the 68th Precinct police made an arrest at 63rd Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway.
The police responded to a call about a car parked at the hydrant.
The man was loading items from a duffle bag.
The police arrested the man and took away! Go NYPD!!
When the 68th Precinct shares information about this arrest, I’ll put a link to it. (They usually share what they recovered).

Alyssa Milano Was at Brooklyn Roots -Bay Ridge!
Brooklyn Roots Restaurant was visited by actress, Alyssa Milano!
Chef Thomas Perrone made Alyssa Milano Gnocchi. Chef Perrone said that Milano requested canned mushrooms in the dish, but he wouldn’t use canned mushrooms.
Alyssa Milano Gnocchi is Gnocchi alla Limone drizzled with Arrabiata Sauce & Whipped Ricotta.
Everyone loved Alyssa Milano when she starred in the television sitcom, “Whose the Boss?” or the 90’s show, Charmed. Chef Perrone shared the photo above and this:
