Today Justin Brannan Spoke Out Against Congestion Pricing, Why Did He Remain Silent All This Time?

If you don’t like the City of Yes Plan, you can thank Councilman Justin Brannan. Marcia Kramer said on her the news on CBS that Brannan negotiated the City of Yes plan. The real estate industry loves the City of Yes plan, but most people don’t.

Watch the video:

Marcia Kramer asked Councilman Brannan about Congestion Pricing. Brannan answered that he was against it! That’s news to us.

While Senator Andrew Gounardes and Bobby Carroll, two state senators in Brooklyn, pushed congestion pricing on NYC, Justin Brannan never spoke out against Gounardes or Carroll or the Congestion Pricing charges.

Robberies on Ft. Hamilton Parkway and 69th Street Are Not Being Shared – Heads Up Brooklyn

Yesterday morning an apartment located on the corner of 69th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway was broken into. The thieves ransacked the home. They robbed cash and items after the resident left for work.

Three weeks ago, 6910 Fort Hamilton Parkway was broken into. The thieves broke the window and climbed in. They stole cash and items around 7:30 pm. A senior was in the home and she called the police.

Two robberies on the same block – even the same side of the block.

Someone in the area must be watching. Video footage in the area is not showing anyone on the ground, so they are entering the building another way.

No city or state representatives have given the community a heads up. Assemblyman Lester Chang’s office is right there on Fort Hamilton Parkway – why hasn’t he told the people?

Alexa Aviles is the City Councilwoman – she doesn’t live in the area, so she doesn’t care (or she would have alerted that block weeks ago when the first robbery happened). Senator Iwen Chu never spoke about crime – that’s one reason she was voted out.

Do you see how these gerrymandered districts are hurting residents in our community?

The 68th Precinct is short-staffed (but posting pics on X – guys we don’t need pictures). We need the community to have as much info as possible so they can make their homes safe and stop the thieves.

There is a BMW M5 on milk crates on 10th Avenue between 82nd and 83rd Streets in Dyker Heights. How awful for the owner to have to walk up to his car like this.

It It Was a “City for All” Plan, Justin Brannan Would Have Spoken Out About It in Bay Ridge

Councilman Justin Brannan played on social media today after NYC Council’s Land Use Committee and Zoning Committee voted for a modified City of Yes Plan. NYC Council will vote on the full plan in December.

Strangely, the two committees have four of the same people.

Justin Brannan has opposed Eric Adams on many things – Brannan even supported the candidacy of Adam’s opponent, Brad Lander last Summer (he and Gounardes were on Lander’s fundraising flyer).

Why hasn’t Justin Brannan shared any positive aspects of The City of Yes for Bay Ridge with Bay Ridge. While this politician fails to hold any community meetings, he does a lot of mailings and has not promoted any great aspects of the City of Mess project.

City Councilman Christopher Marte has opposed this rushed plan. “Marte said that this plan will lead to unaffordable housing conversions, loss of public buildings to luxury condos, and diminished livability in neighborhoods.(Info) See video:

When Community Board 10 held a meeting at Saint Anselm’s, Justin Brannan didn’t bother to attend.

Senator Andrew Gounardes attended the meeting, but stayed silent at the meeting.

The news said yesterday that the plan had been revised, but Brannan did not share any of the revisions with the community.

It looks like a windfall for real estate developers as usual. (Info here)

The head of NYC Planning, Dan Garodnick revealed that 80,000 units will be added to NYC. Strange thing: The City of Yes had not planned any changes for Gardonick’s neighborhood.

Then I noticed people talking about “carve outs” on social media:

Why is Councilman Justin Brannan’s Staffer Responding to Coney Island Residents Without Identifying the Office He Works For?

Councilman Justin Brannan did a carveout in the City of Yes for part of Bay Ridge.

When Coney Island found out they felt betrayed by Councilman Brannan and took to social media to express their anger.

I responded and then Justin Branan’s staffer and friend, Jonathan Yedin responded saying that it wasn’t true:

When Coney Island pressed Brannan’s staffer for the truth, he did not respond.

Why does Councilman Brannan have his staff writing in a Coney Island group, without identifying who they are?

68th Precinct Short Staffed – Revealed at Meeting

At this weeks 68th Precinct meeting, a concerned Ridgite said that despite Compstat statistics showing many crimes were down, people do not feel safe. (Some crime are not down: rape, assault & grand larceny)

“The Captain confirmed that precinct is stretched with insufficient officers to patrol that cannot walk the beat. Several years back there was an increase in our police force which allowed them to walk around our neighborhood. Slowly but surely these extra officers were siphoned away to other precincts under the guise of “low crime” area.”

This resident felt that the community should ask Councilman Justin Brannan for more police again, as we pay much higher taxes than many other neighborhoods. It’s worth a try!
