Get $15 at Wonder’s Soft Opening 1/27 – 1/29 in Bay Ridge. The Grand Opening is on 1/30

Wonder, the new restaurant on the corner of 5th Avenue and 75th Street will have a soft opening from Monday, January 27th – Wednesday, January 29th. (Info about Wonder)
You can register for the soft opening and receive $15.00 off your meal (Register here – the meal times for the 29th are on the next page).

I’ve eaten at another Wonder in NYC – they make very good salads. (See their salads here)

*****************************************************************

Wonder’s grand opening will be held on January 30th starting at 5:00 pm.
They will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:00 pm. The first 100 people in line, who downloaded the Wonder app will get a free meal (up to $15.00).
They will have some free samples. There will also be a prize where with Wonder swag, like keychains, bags and some food items.
Many Ridgites are curious what this new eatery will be like. Some people are not happy about this chain eatery coming to Bay Ridge – it’s one less empty storefront for our community. It’s also a place that families with picky eaters will enjoy.

And if you are a restaurant that is worried you are losing business to Wonder, make a new soup – take a photo and put it on Instagram around 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Our area lacks variety in soups and salads.

I never heard of this Sunday starter pack from LaBella Supermarket. Brooklyn Bites shared it today and Brooklynites raved about it.
People like to get these and freeze them so they have some meat to make sauce for pasta.

January 10, 2025FlynnStoned Cannabis Co. Wants to Open on 5th Avenue – Across the Street from CB-10’s Office

On Tuesday, January 14th at 7:00 pm, Community Board 10 is having a meeting at 8119 – 5th Avenue at 7:00 pm.

FlynnStoned Cannabis Company wants to open at 8110 – 8112 – 5th Avenue – across the street from Community Board 10’s Office (stock up on snacks for visitors who have the munchies, Josephine).

Flynnstoned Cannabis Co is already an established business. (See their website) Syracuse residents seem to like this shop. (Reviews)
The last cannabis shop that came to a Community Board 10 meeting had a responsible owner. He said his staff would not be using cannabis. The instagram for Flynnstoned showed this:
If you oppose this cannabis shop, come speak your mind at the Community Board Meeting on Tuesday – many people in Bay Ridge do not want these shops.
Some people in the community are excited for the legal cannabis shops. NYC’s rules will probably allow the shop because this is a cannabis city.

January 9, 2025Why Doesn’t Coney Island Have a Huge Martin Luther King Celebration?

Every year, a few days before Martin Luther King Jr. day, some nonprofit organization will announce some small MLK Day event. But why isn’t there a huge celebration in Coney Island?
It’s 10 days before MLK Day and there isn’t one flyer for an event in Coney Island.
NYC gives children the day off from school. Many Brooklynites would like to participate in some kind of service project in honor of the day, but there are only a few small events around Brooklyn. Why aren’t the politicians in this area engaging these families?
Coney Island was left out from the New Year’s Eve Celebration this year – no fireworks, like there used to be years ago. And of course there is no money for a MLK Jr. Day celebration either.
Why do you settle for this Brooklyn?
