Why Is TransAlt Allowed to Speak at Community Board 10 Meetings Without Revealing Who They Lobby?

Community Board 10 needs to have show transparency when lobbyists are speaking at CB 10 meetings.

On Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 7:00 pm, Community Board is is holding a Traffic and Transpiration Meeting at the District Office at 8119 – 5th Avenue and over Zoom.

A presentation will be given by a Transportation Alternatives staff member named Rose U. Rose is a Staten Island resident. She gave a walking tour in Bay Ridge in November 2024 and showed she doesn’t know enough or care enough about Bay Ridge to speak into our community.

During this walk, Rose mentioned that a Bay Ridge resident was killed on 4th Avenue and Senator Street, but she didn’t even know the woman’s name.

In June 2024, Aihong Qu was killed on 7th Avenue in Bay Ridge. This was the second woman’s death that Senator Andrew Gounardes and Trans Alt ignored. Candlelight ceremonies in the street stopped and no one even mentioned the 48-year-old woman’s name.

Community Board 10 has not told the community that there have been an increase in crashes and injuries in our neighborhood – we all know it thought!

More cyclists and motorists have been injured. And this year there is a category of UNKNOWN with 31 people! No one knows if those people were pedestrians, cyclists or motorist?

You can see the statistics here (adjust the date on the far right):

Speed cameras aren’t helping our community have less crashes or people hurt as Senator Andrew Gounardes has claimed:

Andrew Gounardes failed to tell you that both he and former Councilman Justin Brannan were lobbied over the cameras.

And more people have been injured in Bay Ridge since Trans Alt representative, Rose U. spoke into our community in 2023.

See the prior years here:

When two students from Xaverian High School were hurt, there was no Transalt here, Children and their families made a petition for changes to the streets.

Students and their families in Bay Ridge pushed for the street change – not Transportation Alternatives or Rose U.

Last week, when Community Board 10 announced a truck route for 3rd Avenue, there was no Rose U. from Staten Island. You know why? Because she doesn’t care about our community because she does not live here.

Register to speak at Community Board 10’s Meeting here – you can also just go to the District Office on 5th Avenue.  https://bit.ly/TT3526

Black Cat Found – He Was Wearing a Collar and Harness, But No Tag (No Chip Either)

This cute and friendly black cat was found on 74th Street and Narrows Avenue in Bay Ridge.

The kind person who found him had him scanned, but he didn’t have a microchip. He was wearing a harness and collar. He is not neutered.

If this is your cat, call or text the nice person. 347-870-1028

Santosuosso Announced Home Owner’s Meeting the Day Before the Meeting

Announcing a meeting the day before it happens is not good. The time was for 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Don’t some home owners word to pay their mortgage and property taxes?

When someone asked Kayla if there would be a Bay Ridge meeting, she said that she already had it.

District 11’s Congressional District is Not Going to Be Redrawn

Democrats don’t have a strong enough candidate to run against Nicole Malliotakis so they wanted to change the district lines (like they did for our NYC Council seat and senate seat).

The Supreme Court said no. See here: https://shorturl.at/ydnmy

NYC needs both Democrats and Republicans – our city suffers when there is one party rule (and lobbyists win over and over because people aren’t paying attention).

John Ricottone is Running for NYS Assembly in District 47. Tired of Dirty Streets – Vote for Him!

It’s great to see that John Ricottone has thrown his hat in to run for the NYS Assembly for District 47.

I don’t know John Riccotone personally, but I have watched him help so many people – he likes helping people.

If you are disgusted with how 86th Street looks in Bensonhurst, so is John. He will have that area cleaned up and stay on top of it.

As the head of District 20’s Community Education Council, John has pushed for safety and improvements by writing resolutions. This year when parents voiced their concerns about lockdown drills, Riccotone’s resolution was to equip teachers and staff with a silent panic button. Info: https://www.cec20.org/meetings/meeting-records

John Riccotone helped PS 164 get funding. He helped setup a helmet giveaway for PS 247. He’s works fast because he is motivated to help families and schools.

Prior to being the President of the Community Education Council, Riccotone was Vice President and ran the meetings well. He made sure that all parents who wanted to speak were heard from.

When NYS cut the funding to afterschool programs, Riccotone and member of Community Education Council led a protest. Their sick of money being cut towards programs for children and politicians not telling the community.

When people were complaining about a local vendor being rude, John didn’t write things on social media, he went out and talked with the guy. Riccotone is a retired police officer and he is used to talking to people.

Tired of politicians being owned by lobbyists? This guy is tired of all the nonsense in politics as well. He just wants a clean and safe community.

I wish John Riccotone was running for office in Bay Ridge. Brooklyn needs leaders who are focused on helping the community.

Why Didn’t Andrew Gounardes Share Eric Adams Property Tax Plan?

Eric Adams said he had a property tax plan that NYS legislatures failed to do anything. See article:

https://nysfocus.com/2026/03/02/mamdani-eric-adams-property-tax-plan

We should have seen Andrew Gounardes lead property tax reform.

Instead, Senator Gounardes is busy posting goofy videos on social media about Trump.

Andew Gounardes does not want to make NY more affordable. Rents are higher in our area to pay for the high property taxes. Yet Gounardes thinks you want to see him playing with a toy in a video. See dumb video:

Why doesn’t Andrew Gounardes’ wife or parents tell him to stop making silly videos?
