April 6, 2025Sisters Stabbed By Their Uncle on 84th Street

This morning around 10:00 am, some children were attacked by their relative with a knife at their home on 84th Street between 16th and 17th Avenue. Three of the girls are sisters and the man is their uncle. It was later reported that the 16-year-old girl is the daughter of the man who stabbed the girls – how awful!
Thankfully, all these children are alive and were taken to the hospital.
The NY Post has pictures of people covered in blood (they are awful): https://is.gd/JKcjcR
The NY Post’s article stated that the sisters were ages 8 to 13 and their older cousin was 16. Their Mother was not at home when this happened The 11-year-old sister called the police and saved her family. The police arrived at the home and an uninjured male child let them in. They kicked down a door where they heard screaming.

The police shot Longqian Chen when he refused to put down the meat cleaver. Two officers shot seven rounds. They recovered two knives. The news reported that the man is in critical condition at the hospital.
Thank God for these quick-thinking and acting police officers in the 62nd Precinct!
CBS News shared: “Police identified the suspect as a 49-year-old man with a history of mental illness.”
From AM NY: “I saw a guy come out on a stretcher. he wasn’t moving, his shirt was all bloody and he was handcuffed to the stretcher. His eyes were rolling back in his head,” said eyewitness Humberto Hureta, 23. “I never saw anything like it.”

The paper reported that two police officers were also being treated for tinnitus.
Senator Steve Chan went to 84th Street to make sure that the area is safe for the community.

Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny shared this statement:

One of the first reports shared by News 12 was that one of the children had died – thankfully that was not true.

April 6, 20252.5 Years After Dyker Heights Reported Extreme Flooding, Brannan Says They Will Get Help

In September 2022, residents in Dyker Heights told the community about how extreme the flooding was in their basements at a Community Board 10 Meeting (seniors were walking in waist-high water).
Senator Andrew Gounardes and Councilman Brannan promised them help. Seniors in the area explained how fearful they were of rain storms due to the flooding.
One resident returned the following year and spoke about how he and his wife have to spend so much time cleaning up his flooded basement. Community Board 10 never provided an update or mentioned the problem again.
Today, the politician who is running for election in the June primary, announced that money has been put towards the infrastructure project. No timeline provided.

I guess it’s better late than never. We need a new senator and City Council Representative as these two aren’t communicating and taking care of community issues in a timely manner.

April 5, 2025While Rape Increases in the 68th Precinct, the Local Papers Want to Talk About Nonsense

There have been six rapes in three months in the 68th Precinct. No one is pointing to the Crime statistics this week and saying crime is down.
Senator Andrew Gounardes and Councilman Justin Brannan are too busy writing about Trump on social media, rather than updating the community on whether the rapists have been caught?!
Yet, strangely local papers such as The Brooklyn Paper printed a story about the Internet nonsense over a rotten red onion.

April 5, 2025Teen Sexually Assaulted on S79 Bus in Bay Ridge and Politicians and The Police Are Silent

A teen was sexually assaulted on the S79 bus at 86th Street and 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge on Tuesday, April 1st around 4:00 pm.
The police waited until today, Saturday, April 5th to share this information:

The police are looking for the man in the photo above. They wrote that he stood next to the teen and forcibly touched the teen’s breast.

The man has a medium complexion and he was wearing a black jacket, gray New Balance t-shirt, gray pants, and white sneakers.
Why did the police wait four days to share this information? Who else could have been sexually assaulted and didn’t tell anyone?
It doesn’t say that the teen (or her parents) reported the assault, but they must have.
What message did the teen, who was assaulted understand about this? That an assault was not important enough for the police to speak about for four days AND for politicians to be silent about.
Why didn’t politicians tell the community on April 2nd? Justin Brannan and Andrew Gouanrdes claim they are in communication with the police? Why didn’t they tell families so people could alert their children, who use the buses in this area?
If you know who this is, call NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or put tips here: https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/, or on X @NYPDTips.

April 4, 2025Car Broken Into on Shore Road on 4/3/25

A car was broken into last night on Shore Road – near the gazebo. This is opposite Shore Hill, so I guess there wouldn’t be any footage.
The person rummaged through the car, but didn’t take anything out of the vehicle. Maybe this thief is looking for cash?

Photo: Ali I.A.

The search ended very quickly. RIP.
A person, who was loved by many people jumped because many people are searching for this – not just in Brooklyn, but other states as well. We are very sorry for your loss.
May your friend/family member rest in peace.

We are praying for you in Brooklyn.
