January 28, 2025Justin Brannan Shared That Food Stamps Were Being Cut by The Government – They Are Not

It’s easy to tweet. Elected officials know they can’t quote an article without checking the source of information.
Councilman Brannan could have called someone to check before he wrote online. (See here) There are going to be real cuts that he will need to speak out against, but creating hysteria over incorrect information is ridiculous.
Brannan wouldn’t share the information about a homeless shelter in his community, but he will run to X and write this because the Democrats like playing politics online.

January 28, 2025Another Accident on 74th Street and 14th Avenue – When Will Someone Take Action Here?

This afternoon there was an accident on 14th Avenue and 74th Street. The firefighters had to extricate the man from the car. Residents were glad the man was alright.

This corner needs a light as there are several accidents per year here. Residents say that drivers fly by the stop sign on 74th Street. It shouldn’t take a fatality to get a light.
We put a request to the NYC DOT. You can see it here. (Incident #DOT-682779-X6K1)

January 28, 2025Minor Handcuffed on 86th Street in Bay Ridge

A high school student was handcuffed by the 68th Precinct police on 86th Street between 4th and 5th Avenue.
Many people were filming the police. One woman felt that the police did not have a reason to arrest the boy and that they had to call his mother before they could take him in.
After the cops handcuffed the boy, he threw himself on the ground. The officers put him in the back of their SUV and the boy was banging on the windows.

January 27, 2025Two Brooklyn Churches Came Together in Prayer

A friend of mine shared the unique experience he had at St. Ephrem Church yesterday. He told me that St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Dyker Heights was at St. Ephrem’s for a ecumenical prayer service.
Father Robert Adamo, the Pastor of St. Ephrem’s and Mother Suzanne M. Coles, the head of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church wanted Christians to come together and pray.
The people at St. Ephrem’s told me the music that was played was incredible and they really enjoyed the two communities coming together.
I noticed other people from our community talking about this unique experience on Facebook as well.
This is how the event was advertised:

Maybe they will have more events like this!
