March 16, 2026Why Are Bikes & Scooters Still Riding on the Sidewalks in Our Community?

At tonight’s Community Board 10 Meeting, people called for safety measures to stop bikes and electric scooters being used on the sidewalk.
People who are riding electric scooters on the street are endangering the safety of pedestrians. Residents are concerned about the safety of seniors living in our area.
Currently, there is no enforcement when electric bike or scooter riders break the law. No one is ticketed, so they keep doing it.
This issue has come up at Community Board 10 before, but since the 68th Precinct liaison is not present at this meeting, nothing changes.

March 14, 2026Proof That Lobbyists Won in Bay Ridge

This is ta new Citibike rack on Shore Road and 91st Street – it is across the street from Shore Hill Housing for seniors.
There was plenty of room on the sidewalk for Lyft to install the rack.
There’s room for Citibikes and for parking…not one or the other. Should there be 48 stations in one small community? No, unless these stations are being used (which many aren’t).
Two blocks away is another Citibike setup.

March 13, 2026Thankful for Andrea & Another Kind Brooklynite

This dog was walking alone today in our neighborhood. Andrea saw him while she was walking her dog and quickly called for someone to grab him.

These Brooklynites didn’t know this dog, but they didn’t hesitate to help him. They brought him into their home, took a photo and shared it on social media. The owner quickly retrieved the dog from Andrea.
I’m so grateful there are kind people in our neighborhood, who would immediately help a dog and even bring the dog into their home to keep him safe.
