I love Etsy.com – Matte Stephens art
I LOVE Etsy (etsy.com). I love how there are a lot of designers and artists all in one place and I can buy something special for me or others so easily. Currently, my favorite etsy sell is Matt Stephens. I adore his Charlie Bird prints:
In my bathroom, I have the Beehive Bubble Print and I adore it. Isn’t it pretty?
I don’t know Matte, just his Etsy shop. The address is: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5063179

May 25, 2008Items taken from outside my house
Someone came and took some items from outside of my house. The items of course aren’t a big deal, but it hurts to know that someone was so close to the inside of my home and wanted to take from me. I don’t feel safe like I always have. I have been down and sad about it all day. :(
I’m thanful to God that my family is okay and nothing that was important to me was harmed. I am trying to have a joyous heart here, BUT SERIOUSLY I AM ANGRY. Please pray for me that my anger and sadness goes away.
The items taken were: a mother and baby goose and an iron dachshund foot scraper. The geese and dachshund were given to me by friends. They were very cute items, but not necessities.

Today my 8th grade class and I laughed so much. It’s great to see how much they have matured and grown over these past three years. I am going to miss them when they are done.

May 20, 2008School – A Blessing
I rarely speak about my job because I don’t want anything to happen to me like it did to DOOCE. But I just wanted to say how nice it has been at work lately. The past two days have been awesome. The kids have been great. The weather is awesome.
I am so looking forward to the summer still :)

May 11, 2008The weekend was terrific
Lee and I had a great time this weekend. He bought me a television for my birthday and we went to pick it up today. He’s the sweetest man alive and I am so lucky to have him. Everyday with him is a gift from God.

May 11, 2008My birthday – another year older & maybe wiser
In a half an hour I turn 37. When I was a young girl, I would be upset that I had to share my birthday with Mother’s Day…..but now I like it because I am not really a “birthday person.” I don’t like the attention that birthdays bring and would rather just have a peaceful normal day.
I’m a bit surprised that I feel so young at 37. When I was a kid, I used to think 37 was pretty old. So I hope that I am not only older, but also wiser. I feel like a certain type of peace has echoed through me these last few months and I am very grateful.
This week was a hard week for my friend who lost her daughter. I keep praying for her peace, but I know it will take time. I can’t imagine anything harder for anyone to go through. :(

May 10, 2008Two trips in one week
I took my class on two trips this week. On Thursday, they had lunch at a Spanish restaurant and on today we went to Liberty Science Center. Most people who read this would probably wonder why I would take students to a Spanish restaurant. Most of my students are Asian and have never eaten Spanish food. It was a fun trip because they really enjoyed trying the food and practicing speaking Spanish to the waiters.
Today’s trip was very cool too. My students loved the hands on science activities.
I have a class tomorrow morning because I wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine.

May 8, 2008Haiti
Through Compassion International, I sponsored a child in Haiti. There is so much strife in Haiti now and people are starving. I was so happy to hear from Compassion International that her family and the Compassion group are safe. Through the grace of God, they will stay safe.

April 30, 2008Grant them peace
God, I just read about Baby Audrey Caroline and I can’t stop crying. If you have a few minutes, take a look Audrey’s pictures at Angie’s blog about her daughter. She looks like a baby angel.
I know Audrey Caroline is in heaven with you God, please give Angie the continued strength she needs in her marriage and inside herself to continue believing.
