May 8, 2025Vote Against Justin Brannan For Not Fighting For Coney Island

Yesterday, the NYC Planning Commission voted to approve demapping Coney Island streets for the Casino Project.
Coney Island residents submitted over 8,000 signatures against the casino on petitions. There were 175 comments made to the City Planning Commission – only 25 were in favor of the casino.
The next vote is the NYC Council vote and the council defers to the Council representative. Justin Brannan has not spoken out against the casino.
In March 2023, I told you why Justin Brannan would be the worst thing for Coney Island:
https://is.gd/MFOoW8
Democrat District Leaders like Chris McCreight still pushed for Brannan for Councilman even though saw Justin Brannan was lobbied. Brannan’s staffer, Kayla Santosuosso is trying to get his seat, but she never stood up for Coney Island this Winter when the people fought alone.
The Bay Ridge Democrats and Kayla Santosuosso know that Brannan didn’t help Coney Island, but still keep pushing for the man, who couldn’t stand up against lobbyists for a poor Brooklyn community.
