Michael Grimm – Newspapers Are Just Firing Up Staten Island

There’s a lot of Staten Island residents who love it when the media writes Michael Grimm, Convicted Felon.   It’s fires them up! This laundromat in Bay Ridge has kept up Grimm’s signs for years!

Remember when Grimm threatened to throw the reporter off the balcony?  Staten Islanders loved that drama.  They love all of it,

Staten Islanders don’t care that Grimm spent seven months in federal prison for tax fraud. (Grimm hid $1 million is sales receipts from a restaurant he once owned in Manhattan called Healthalicious.)

Poor Dan Donovan is going to be kicked out of office because Grimm will accuse him of being liberal and voting like a Democrat. Now you can argue that it isn’t going to happen because all of these Staten Island pols came out against Grimm  :

Whose with Donovan?

  • Assemblyman Ron Castorina Jr.
  • Borough President James Oddo,
  • Senator Andrew Lanza
  • Councilmen Steven Matteo
  • Even Joe Borelli and Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (who both celebrated Grimm’s win)
  • GOP Chairman Ed Cox
  • Brooklyn Chairman Ted Ghorra.

Whose with Grimm?

Strangely, Grimm had a lot of support when he ran last time. Grimm won while he was indicted. Many find nothing wrong with what Grimm did because a lot of people are doing it.

For us in Bay Ridge, get ready for Michael Grimm to walk in one of our parades with a runner who has to tell us who he is because most people have no idea!  Yup, while he was our Congressman, his runner said, “Shake the hand of Congressman Michael Grimm.”

September 22nd Update: Staten Island is rallying for Grimm on October 1st.  See what I mean, they like his drama.

Bay Ridge Socialists Meeting – September

Bay Ridge Socialists are going to throw out some flyers out on 86th Street because flyers are “helpful.”

I’m pretty sure if a person is here illegally,  they probably wouldn’t be strolling 86th Street and willing to talk to a stranger about their status. Wouldn’t houses of worship be better for disseminating this kind of information?

If there are people actually interested in social justice, why aren’t they moving on putting together a bill proposal to allow people to sponsor an immigrant and help them get citizenship?

There are many residents here who would be willing to do this. Now if a socialist happens to read this, limit the number of people that can be sponsored per person so it’s reasonable and people aren’t selling sponsorship. Maybe to get the bill started, write something in about public servants being allowed to sponsor immigrants (these are people who would lose their job if they acted shady or sold their sponsorship). This way the bill is accepted by Dems & Republicans easily.

If you feel the Socialist vibe, get to the Bay Ridge Socialists meeting on September 25th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the Union Church. More info here
