We Need Common Sense Legislatures First

The NY Post had an editorial that called for common-sense road safety laws. I doubt there will be much change in road safety laws when we have a Senator like mine in office. Senator Golden isn’t going to pass any bills for street safety.

Remember:

1) Senator Golden Hit a Senior Citizen with his SUV in 2005.

2)Marty Golden allegedly impersonated a police office and had his driver drive in the bike lane.

When Reporters Tell Half the Story, They Hurt Neighborhoods

Local news is so important to communities. People read it to find out what is happening and keep up on the major topics of the neighborhood.

What if reporters aren’t telling the whole story, even when the information is already out there?  It’s a sign that the reporter is disengaged with the neighborhood and is purposely misleading readers. Sometimes this happens accidentally and stories are reprinted so the public knows the truth.

Sometimes news outlets are unwilling to correct the problem.

This week, one of our local papers ran a one-sided story which hurts our neighborhood. I contacted the paper. If by Friday there isn’t a reprint, I’ll share it here.
