Attempted Robbery at Pyramids Jewelry Store – Bay Ridge

Pyramid Jewelry International in Bay Ridge  had two men break in past their gate and into their shop at 2:30 am on Friday, March 30th.  See story and video here and here

The owner of the store had seen the men three days before playing around with the store gate.

The jewel thieves took off when they encountered the 61 year old owner who was sleeping in the back room. Nothing was taken from the store and the men fled in a white sedan. (Source)  We are glad the owner is okay!

Pyramid Jewelry is at 7112 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge.

The Plans for the Hotel in Bay Ridge were Submitted

On Thursday, March 29th, the hotel’s builder proceeded with the next steps of paperwork and submitted the plans. Did Senator Golden say anything about this? NO. Why?  Because he doesn’t care!  Senator Golden has failed PS 104 and Bay Ridge.  If he cared, his social media would have announced this and his next steps.  It’s two weeks after the rally and he hasn’t done anything.

From these new documents we can see:

a) There will be four open space parking spots.

b) The hotel has a cellar floor for an exercise room, laundry room, a breakfast room and storage.  Plus 5 hotel rooms.

c) The first floor has 8 hotel rooms, a lobby and an office.

d) Floors 2-6 have 10 hotel rooms each.

On March 29th, $2,911.00 was paid to the city for the filing deposit and energy code review.

Corey Johnson’s Tweet About Mark Treyger Leaves Out So Much…..

It’s amazing how a tweet could make someone sound like hero.

Yet, there was so much left out………and Treyger is no hero in situation.

A young woman was allegedly raped by two NYPD officers in Mark Treyger’s area – Chipotle Parking lot 2940 Cropsey Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11214 – see representative here. Afterwards, the police officer claimed this was consensual sex in a police van during working hours.

No local paper reported this in Bay Ridge, but the officers drove to Bay Ridge and switched places. (NY Times).

Mark Treyger lives in a gated community in SeaGate. And this is the problem for that community because they will never receive what they need when their Councilman lives behind a gate away from him.

Corey Johnson may or may not know this, but it’s something Brooklyn residents need to know. Why?  Because money isn’t used for security in that area. Treyger’s money goes predominately to not-for-profits who helped him get re-elected. But the area needs more protection.

The culture of the NYPD in that area is wrong and has never been addressed by Councilman Treyger. For this situation, this saying fits: “You can’t close the gate when the horses have bolted.”   More here and here.

Treyger is often chasing after issues in his area rather than being proactive towards them. What does that mean? Treyger wanted to get air conditioning for schools when it was almost Fall.

Treyger wanted control so he pushed Pam Harris on our area. And we saw Pam isn’t able to represent our area because she is indicted on fraud.  Harris didn’t even show up to vote against this bill involving the police: “Relates to establishing incapacity to consent when a person is under arrest, detention or otherwise in actual custody.”  And Treyger has not asked Harris to step down.

Hopefully Brooklyn is done with Treyger this year as he is owned and he continues to blame the past representative, even though Treyger has been in office for many years now.

Councilman Brannan Comes Through for Bay Ridge Soccer Team!

I was sent this story by a Bay Ridge Mom and I asked the original author if I could share it because it’s share-worthy!  We are glad to see Councilman Brannan is so task-oriented and helpful in cutting through the red tape for our community and especially for this kids soccer team. These little things are important and you won’t read about them in the local paper.

Woohoo there’s space for the Bay Ridge soccer team to play!

Thank you Robert Brigante Rocciscone for pushing for this for the children in Bay Ridge! Everyone who has played on a team as kids has great memories from it (even people who lost).

68 Yr. Old Woman’s Body Found in the Water – Bay Ridge

The body of Maria Tammik, 68 years old and from 80th Street in Manhattan  was found in the water on the Brooklyn-side of the Verrazzano Bridge this morning. (Story: here)  People walking on the Shore Road bike path this morning saw the body being removed from the water. There was no mention of a car on the bridge though.

Info  here and here.

RIP Maria.  Prayers for the woman’s family.

It took three days for them to find the man who drove his car off the pier, so this may have happened a few days ago. There’s no mention of an abandoned car on the Verrazano Bridge either.

Senator Golden Lied About the Hotel in Bay Ridge

Senator Golden appeared on the video above called Your Voice. It’s a video made for the NY Senator and allows politicians to praise themselves. This video was published on March 21, 2018.

At 10:10 on the video, Senator Golden said that the owner of the hotel put in paperwork the day of the rally which was held on Friday, March 16th across the street from PS 104.

That isn’t true, the paperwork was filed on Wednesday, March 14th. Golden knew that because he held the paperwork in his hands during the rally. Every page has the date March 14th.  See here.

  • The date of March 14th is also confirmed in John Alexander’s article for the Brooklyn Eagle.  see here.  Alexander sees Senator Golden as the Johnny Cash of politics and often writes favorably about him.

This video is dated March 21st, but could be from the 19th or 20th (it was certainly filmed AFTER the rally)  so why would Senator Golden lie about the date of the paperwork?

At the rally, Senator Golden said he knew about the hotel for four weeks (and he did nothing – he didn’t even speak to the prospective buyer……..Meaghan McGoldrick, a journalist for the Brooklyn Reporter was able to get the prospective buyer, Ankit Mehta on the phone and speak with him right after the rally.   See her story here

At the rally, Senator Golden made some noise to make it looked like he cared so the newspaper would take his picture. But he still hasn’t taken any action other than to make a stupid petition for people to sign.

If Senator Golden couldn’t get the interested buyer on the phone after a week or two, why didn’t he go to Ankit Mehta’s office to speak with him?
