September 7, 2025Small Tan Dog Found on 14th Avenue – 9/6/25

A nice person and her husband are holding this cute little dog. Another woman found the dog on 14th Avenue on September 6th, but she couldn’t hold onto him.
He’s a small, curly-haired light tan dog, about 10 pounds (photo attached). Very sweet but seems nervous.
The dog was not wearing a collar.
They will be taking the dog to the vet to check for a microchip. If this is your dog, contact Victoria:

September 7, 2025Andrew Gounardes Failed to Stand Up For Afterschool Funding AGAIN

Andrew Gounardes does not want you to know that for the second year in a row, NYS has failed to fund SOME schools in our district.

The schools that did not receive LEAPS funding are:
PS/IS 104 at 9115 – 5th Avenue.
PS 185 at 8601 Ridge Blvd
PS 413 – The Joanne Seminara School at 280 Senator Street
While afterschool is free at many schools in this district, the unlucky parents at these schools have to pay $3000 for afterschool. If they don’t have the money, their children go home to empty apartments and they are “latchkey kids.“
We should have seen Andrew Gounardes protest with the parents last year when afterschool was first cut. This year, Andrew Gounardes should have led a protest outside of Governor Hochul’s office.
City Councilman, Justin Brannan should have called out the state’s failure to provide funding, but he isn’t able to. Brannan showed up at PS 185 that lost their afterschool funding and took photos of him and Kayla. See:

We have all paid enough property tax for our schools to be fully funded!
