October 1, 2018Mist Smoke Shop on 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge was Robbed by Man Wanted for Upstate Shooting

UPDATE FROM 68th PRECINCT: The suspect is in custody after a collaborative effort by multiple agencies from today’s Commercial Robbery on 3rd Avenue and also for the attempted murders of Police Officers this past weekend upstate. Joshua Stewart was caught by US Marshalls in Park Slope.
The police said that Joshua Stewart held up Mist Tobacco Shop on 83rd Street and 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge around 8:35 am this morning. Stewart took the clerks wallet which contained $50. Stewart was already WANTED for the attempted murder of several police officers on Friday in Upstate NY. Story here

You could hear the search was on for Stewart in Bay Ridge because there were helicopters overhead. The police requested that the schools in the area enter into a soft lockdown.

October 1st is World Vegetarian Day!
Councilman Brannan is a vegetarian and we’ve noticed that more places in Bay Ridge are offering alternativees burgers. In January, Brannan was photographed at The Salty Dog having an Impossible Burger. In August, The Lockyard also announced that they have the Impossible Burger in addition to their tofu hot dogs and sausages.
This Summer he shared pics of his grill and the packages he used. I think that would make many people interested…especially if they were already considering it.
This isn’t new for Brannan, he’s been sharing this info for years!
By the time Councilman Jutin Brannan leaves his city council office, I bet he will have converted a small group of people into vegetarians.
