Progressives Wonder What Happened to Max Rose

Congressman-Elect Max Rose made pre-election promises. One of them was that he would join the Progressive Caucus on day 1. Rose had made a statement about this during the #NY11Forum in February 2018. See tweet:

Yet, Rose seems to be appeasing Republican voters in his district.  Others don’t seem too impressed with the newly elected Congressman either.

There Won’t Be Xmas Without Marty Golden?! LOL

Some people in Bay Ridge make me laugh.  They are actually talking about Christmas or events not happening in Bay Ridge because Marty Golden won’t be the Senator.

LOL. Marty Golden isn’t Santa Clause.

There will always be events in Bay Ridge.

If you told me that Marty Golden cut down the tree and hauled it to Bay Ridge or that he personally put up the tree, I think I could understand a little better. But he didn’t – Marty told someone to go do it and then Marty just showed up at the event to give the speech: “Greatest borough, greatest city, greatest state…..blah blah blah.”

A bigger, more twinklier tree lighting has come to Bay Ridge:

We are glad that Marty Golden won’t be able to do any more pay-to-play politics and that we have someone who is interested in writing bills  and create legislation for our area.  Marty’s legislation for illegal conversions was so weak.  And Marty was a senior legislator!

Bob Holden Plays Politics Months After Being Elected

Bob Holden, Eric Adams, Raphael Espinol and others played politics today on the steps of City Hall.

Holden admitted to knowing about the sign problem since September and he hasn’t done anything about it. (Either is he is a politican who can’t get things done or his staff is dumb to admit that).

Yet his staff member who is in charge of handling his communications is a total jerk. They made a twitter account for Holden’s office cat (a pretty cat) and then the cat writes snarky messages to people who don’t kiss their butt and write their views on playing politics. (Seen here and below)

There’s your tax dollars at work Queens.  Bob Holden needs to get rid of the stupid employees who think it’s okay for an elected official’s office to act like they are 15 years old.

We saw the same from Senator Marty Golden’s staffers.

None of these politicians could organize a meeting  with the NYC Department of Housing Commissioner. Instead they made store owners stand out in the cold so they could take a picture.

Earth to politicians – you are suppose to cut the red tape and e-mail or cut the red tape for the small business owners.

Community Board 10 Considers Bike Riders

RadioFree Bay Ridge Pic

Tonight at 7:00 pm,  Community Board 10 met with residents and the NYC Department of Transportation.  Bike South Brooklyn encouraged bike enthusiasts to attend the meeting.

I love my car and if you asked me a few years ago about a bike lane, I would have said no way!

Now more than ever, more people are cycling around our neighborhood and we need to do something to make the road safer for them, especially young teens who don’t really understand how cautious they need to be around  4,000+ pound vehicles.

Radiofree Bay Ridge shared what was said here. Read Dan’s writeup about the meeting here.

Making a covered bike lane that connects to the route to Manhattan and eventually over the Verrazzano Bridge is a logical choice. There’s a way to do this so everyone can use the road safely.

If you think we aren’t there yet, imagine a young Bay Ridge teen dying because he/she was riding from their home to their friend’s house and got hit by a car.  Yep we have to do something now – Bay Rigde parent agrees!  We’ve had some really lucky situations in Bay Ridge where young people have been hit by vehicles and survived.

Thanks for staying late Community Board 10. I know my neighbors on Community Board 10 will  provide an amazing solution for the neighborhood (they always do). Plus our new Senator supports the Harbor Ring so a safe route for traveling is near.
