January 18, 2019Bay Ridge Smoke Shop is Collecting Blankets for the Homeless
The shop received both new and used blankets. They are collecting until 3 pm Sunday, January 20th.
One thing I loved about this collection is that the store owner just wanted this to be about neighbors helping neighbors – no organizations or politicians involved.

Apparently, Espinal is trying to represent Liberals, when he was on the Conservative Party Line in 2012.

On a 16×20 canvas you will paint this winter scene of Central Park’s Gapstow Bridge!
Price is $40 to paint with special step by step instructions from International artist Lauren Lombardo.

1) Bay Ridge Martin Luther King Jr. Walk against Racism starts at 11:30 am. The community meets outside of 7111 5th Avenue. Ends at 3 pm.

January 17, 2019Bay Ridge Protected Bike Lane Needed Now
17 Car Crashes on Monday in Councilman Brannan’s District. That’s insane!
You know I would be one of the last people to call for a protected bike lane in Bay Ridge.
It’s time to choose a street and an avenue (or a few) and try it out – anything is better than nothing if drivers are going to be driving without regard for other people (and kids)
We don’t want to be at Clavin’s for a funeral for a kid who we should have protected.
Funerals for kids are the worst.

ACC will be at Vinny’s Pet Shop (Bay Ridge Avenue between 4th & 5th Avenue, Bay Ridge) Saturday afternoon January 19th at 12 PM with great cats and dogs available for adoption!
Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) adoptions include vaccinations, spay/neuter, a pre-registered microchip, an identification tag, a collar and a certificate for a free initial exam at a participating veterinarian.
