July 7, 2025Man Arrested in Coney Island for Attempting to Kidnap Six-Year-Old Boy
A 36-year-old man was arrested for attempting to take a six-year-old boy at 10:00 pm in Coney Island yesterday.
One article wrote: “The child was being pushed by a man just before 10 p.m. Sunday night at Stillwell and Surf Avenue.”

As usual, Councilman Justin Brannan didn’t say anything.
The mother went after the kidnapper and he three the boy on the ground. (NY Post article). The man was taken into custody by the police. The boy was taken to the hospital to be checked out (but he was okay). Story:

The police in our area took 39 dangerous mopeds away from people. They need to take a lot more as there are too many young teens driving them around in our area – some are doing wheelies on them.

On July 4th, someone in Bay Ridge placed a guitar on the curb and offered a guitar to the community. He mentioned it wasn’t haunted.
Someone picked up the guitar and today they posted the guitar. They didn’t mention it wasn’t haunted, but they want to get rid of it fast, so it may be!

July 5, 2025Police Stopped The Drivers Doing Donuts in Bay Ridge on July 5th at 2:50 am

Early this morning around 2:50 am, the police closed off part of Shore Road because people were doing donuts with their cars.
As you can see many police cars blocked one side of the street. Look in the back of the photo and you can see the NYPD had a garbage truck block the other side of 4th Avenue.

Last year, Senator Andrew Gounardes didn’t tell us that the state had cut funding to afterschool programs. Gounardes failed to take action and did not stand with the parents when they protested the cuts.
This year, NIA has announced that federal funding may not be available for afterschool programs at PS 30, PS 176 and PS 204. There is a petition here:

Senator Steve Chan inducted Daniel Luciano into the NY State Veterans Hall of Fame.
Senator Chan wrote: “Daniel was a young soldier in the US Army, assigned to the demilitarized zone in Korea when he was exposed to an unknown chemical that caused a lifetime of debilitating ailments and conditions. As the result, Daniel was honorably discharged as a 100% Disabled American Veteran. On behalf of the people of the State of New York, I thank Daniel Luciano and his family for his service and sacrifice.”

O’Sullivan’s at 8902 – 3rd Avenue has been under construction for a few weeks now. Ridgites say it is becoming a doctor’s office.
Two years ago, the building sold for $1.9 Million.
