Arrest on 86th Street Today
LoudlabsNYC wrote: Around 7 pm Saturday, outside 87th Street & 4th Avenue Taco Bell, within the confines of the 68 Precinct, a 911 call said a man was dragging a driver out of a vehicle.
A 68th Precinct unit radioed in that they have the perp stopped at 87th St & Gelston Avenue.
The victim had a laceration to the face and leg (when he sat down on the ground its easy to see in the video). The male perp was arrested and transported to the 68th Precinct. An ambulance was requested to treat the victim.

March 30, 2019Nicole Malliotakis Won’t Let All Residents Vote in Her Poll
Nicole Malliotakis is censoring her Facebook poll.
Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis set up a plastic bag poll on Facebook. Yet, she only allows some residents to reply to the poll.
Nicole Malliotakis has blocked some people in Bay Ridge from engaging with her Facebook page – these residents can view the page and like items on her page, but they can’t reply to polls.
This gives people the idea that residents are ALL voting a certain way, but it’s false since only certain residents can answer the poll. Malliotakis didn’t respond for a comment to the paper. See here. The ironic part is that Malliotakis has this reporter on speed dial so she can get all of her press releases printed in the paper.
The Brooklyn Reporter previously covered the story of Malliotakis blocking people on social media.

Voting is now open – click here to vote
Starting on Saturday, March 30th, you can go here to vote for up to four projects to receive funding.
We like these:
a) Renovate the basketball and handball courts at Dyker Park – they are used by a lot of 0lder kids (and there isn’t much in the community for teens)
b) Vinland Playground Upgrades – Shore Road and 94th Street. This park is used by a lot of families.
c) Security cameras for 5th Avenue – we thought Gentile already secured this years ago. It’s needed!
*I wish Keno’s Pet Sanctuary was on there….James from Kenos has been coming to Bay Ridge to pick up raccoons and he’s been very responsive to this community. (Maybe there are small grants that he can received).
Things to note:
The schools receive funding for their technology – if they wanted new Smartboards, they would have purchased them. They also have PTAs to help them buy additional things for the school.
The Butterfly Habitat is a nice idea (I loved it when I first heard about it), but $500,000 – there has to be a way to scale that project down, so we can get started on it one year and build on it. C’mon now. If this was made into a lower cost five-year-plan, I think people would vote for it.
If you don’t have a computer, you can go to one of these offices to vote.

On Tuesday, April 23rd and Wednesday, April 24th, the Kidz Cooking Studio will have a two-day pizza making workshop for children 6-12 years old from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Cost for two days: $160.00
The newly renovated cooking studio will be decorated with an Italian theme.
Kidz will enjoy working with dough, making pizza, stromboli, garlic knots, spinach rolls and pepperoni rolls to take home in a large PIZZA BOX for dinner.
Children will enjoy an Italian language lesson on food vocabulary, Italian Tarantella dancing with tambourines and engage in various geography and cultural activities.

March 29, 2019Why Did It Take Three Days for Eric Adams to Respond to Hateful Comments Towards Palestinians?
Three days ago, Councilman Kalman Yeger posted this on Twitter:
There was no reason for Yeger to write that except to upset Palestinians. It’s sad that someone who has a leadership position is a jerk and doesn’t see that his responsibility it to build the community and promote peace.
Eric Adams, the Brooklyn Borough President should have been one of the first voices heard when this happened. Eric Adams was silent. It took Eric three days to speak out about this.
Justin Brannan, Mark Treyger, Corey Johnson and some other politicians spoke out against the hate, but Eric Adams was silent.
Yesterday, Brooklyn residents went to protest outside of Councilman Yeger’s office. Dov Hikand and the Jewish Community was there to support Yeger. See here
Yes, Hikind does have a right to support Yeger…..but D0v Hikind roused his community by asking them to come out against Linda Sarsour – not in support of Kalman Yeger’s statement. Yeger wasn’t even mentioned on his flyer.
Hikind spent his time chanting for Linda Sarsour (he’s way too obsessed with her) and just ignited the neighborhood with hate. Again, here’s another leader who doesn’t promote peace.
WHY DIDN’T ERIC ADAMS STEP IN WHILE TWO COMMUNITIES WERE PITTED AGAINST EACH OTHER?

Day 2 ended with these videos and Eric Adams didn’t say a word!
The following day (Day 3), we learned that during the protest, one man spoke to a tiny Palestinian girl and asked her if she had bombs under her coat. REALLY? It’s one thing to be stupid to adults, but for a man to mess with someone’s child is inappropriate. Some Jewish residents said that this man was a thug and n0t representative of the Jewish community.
Eric Adams finally spoke up about it on the THIRD DAY (See here). I shared about it on Twitter here.
The Jewish press didn’t report about that. And the press isn’t sharing that they are sick of the bigotry and want to live in peace. Many residents protested against Dov Hikind and Yeger! (See video)
Dov Hikand backpedaled and spoke out against it. WHY? Because he saw the little girl….and everyone knows she shouldn’t have been involved or spoken to here. (See Hikand’s tweet)
Again, Councilman Brannan was one of the first voices to speak out. The girl in the video is Palestinian and lives in Dyker Heights.
In February, Eric Adams was also silent for three days when there was problems at the Brooklyn prison. See here
It feels like Eric Adams doesn’t live in Brooklyn. If he lived here, why would he remain silent for THREE DAYS. If he lived in NJ, the news would take longer to reach him.
Eric Adams is term-limited and can’t run for this position again, so I guess he doesn’t care any more.
