NY Legal Age for Tobacco and E-Cigarettes is Now 21
The NYS Senate raised the legal age for tobacco and e-cigarettes from 18 to 21 years old.

April 1, 2019March 31st Incident on 3rd and 88th
The police want to talk to the man in the picture above because he may have had a dispute and stabbed an 18-year-old guy on March 31st at 1:30 in the morning outside of Standard Burger in Bay Ridge.
The 18-year-old guy went to the hospital and is stable.

April 1, 2019Filming in Bay Ridge on 92nd Street – 4/2
On Tuesday, April 2nd, they are filming on 92nd Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues.
Neighbors say that this movie is the prequel to The Sopranos called Newark. That movie is due out in September 2020 and Tony’s son is in the movie. More info here
Nunzio’s Hair Salon on 4th Avenue is going to be one of the scences for this movie – that’s becoming a popular spot for movies to shoot in the neighborhood. In January, Nunzio’s was in Melissa McCarthy’s movie, The Kitchen – see here

Bake Ridge Bagels – announced at the end of January that they were renovating and they would reopen on March 23rd. See here

A 79-year-old man stopped his car on the Verrazzano Bridge and climbed over the rail today.
A state trooper that was on the Verrazano bridge and a man named, Tuli Abramham jumped into action to save the man! Thank God for the men who saved him. But the suicidal man tried to fight them off. Some officers came and it took seven men to bring the 79-year-old man in. Story here

I tweeted the NYPD (here) and asked if this was the same man as yesterday because it looks to be the same beard as in this video.
It may be different departments of the NYPD that did the investigation/arrest so they may not realize he is wanted for another incident.

The Verrazzano Bridge toll is now $19. This is the most expensive toll in the United States.
Did Nicole Malliotakis do anything about it? NOPE. She is not concerned with the Brooklyn residents.
Staten Island receives a break and the toll is $5.50 (Crazy, right?!)
Kadia Goba of Bklyner questioned Malliotakis about the bridge toll as well because Malliotakis is a politician who is supposed to represent both sides of the bridge. See here

Holiday Rush is filming in Bay Ridge from April 1st to April 5th. This is a Netflix movie which will be shown in the Winter.

Description: Interior – Dialogue. Exterior scene – late evening, night – the family returns to looks at their house lit with Christmas decoration.

The following week, Holiday Rush was filmed again at the same house. The house was decorated for Christmas as was Christ Church in Bay Ridge.

On Monday, April 1st, Community Board 10 will hold a meeting to discuss a protected bike lane on 7th Avenue in Bay Ridge.
