The New Bay Ridge Office for Justin Brannan and Max Rose

The building on the left 8203 – 3rd Avenue will be the Bay Ridge Office for Congressman Max Rose and Councilman Justin Brannan.

Max Rose’s staffer mentioned that it would be opening soon. I think this used to be part of the Pearl Room (along with the corner building which is now Remax). I don’t remember it being anything after the Pearl Room.

Residents will be able to stop in one office and get help from all of these leaders.

It’s a great way to save money and be a one-stop place for residents.

Malliotakis Representative Doesn’t Mention Property Tax Bill

At the Community 10 Board Meeting, Nicole Malliotakis’ representative delivered NO NEWS on her property tax bill. Wouldn’t that be the biggest news to deliver to a community who is waiting to hear if Malliotakis carried through her campaign promise?

Begins at 23:56

This man doesn’t work in her office, but he attends the CB10 meetings “on her behalf”. He works on her campaigns and makes thousands. Why wouldn’t he know about the bill as it was submitted 5/6 and this meeting took place 5/20?

The bill was introduced very late in the season, it doesn’t have any other sponsors and it isn’t the bill that was promised (meaning she promised several types of tax breaks and she didn’t deliver).

This guy barely tells Community Board 10 anything. He spoke about her sponsoring yoga and then starts talking about Justin Brannan’s meeting with Andy Byford (even though that was already mentioned by Brannan’s liason).   The yoga he mentions must not have been fully funded as the flyers for the yoga say it’s donation-based yoga.

Wouldn’t Malliotakis want to send someone who shares her work with the residents of the community? Last year, she did a bad job of connecting to residents too – see here.

This guys goes on social media and answers anyone who complains about Malliotakis. He doesn’t offer help, he just tells them they are wrong and that Malliotakis saved a bus (many years ago she and like 5 other politicans  took credit for saving a bus). During Malliotakis’ failed mayoral run, he was all over Twitter calling everyone a troll and everyone just blocked him. He made thousands working on that campaign, so I guess that is what he cares about. This guy doesn’t live in Malliotakis’s district.

Malliotakis has a fully  paid staff who are supposed to do community outreach,  Why aren’t her staffers attending the meeting if tax money is paying their salary?  Malliotakis hasn’t had an office in Bay Ridge for five months and thinks is is acceptable to send someone who doesn’t know about her legislation – that’s just weird.

This week he spoke about Malliotakis sponsoring some yoga in the park (the ad for the yoga says people need to give a donations so I am not sure what she sponsored).

Composting in Bay Ridge on Saturdays

Composting collection stopped because our neighborhood received the brown compost bins.

Yet, many buildings are not using the composting bins. Residents who live in these buildings want to compost and help the earth. So Fight Back Bay Ridge spoke up about composting and now the program is continuing at the Farmer’s Market every Saturday at 3rd Avenue and 95th Street.

Was the Bay Ridge Flasher Caught?

Story here and here

On Friday evening, Bay Ridge was buzzing when everyone heard the news that a man flashed two young boys on 68th. Further frustration came up when the parents called 911 and didn’t receive help after three hours – even though their home was very close to the precinct! The parents contacted Justin Brannan and the police responded immediately after the Councilman contacted them.

The picture of the alleged flasher was released and people thought the man wasn’t going to be caught. Thankfully people called in with tips.  Jianxing Cai was arrested today.

Jianxing Cai is from Bensonhurst.
