3rd Avenue BID – What a Mess!

I went to bed disgusted after seeing this comment was on Facebook for a week and NOT ONE person in our community spoke up for this property owner.

Not one person on the Steering Committee to the 3rd Avenue Bid thought it was inappropriate for the BID Formation Committee to speak to a doctor in a community that way!   AND THEY KNOW HER, so they know what he wrote wasn’t true.

“This Outsider” didn’t take two minutes to do a search and find out who Lisa was. Why? Because he doesn’t care. Anyone who disagrees with him is an obstacle to him getting more money. Writing a LIE and attempting to degrade Lisa didn’t bother him one bit.

When the doctor let The Outsider know she was a property owner, he didn’t apologize or correct his post.

That comment remained up on the “Make a Bid Page” for a week….and not one man or woman on the Steering Committee spoke up for the Doctor. I know some of you on the steering committee…..what happened to you?!

Are You Sure YOU Aren’t the One Who Has Changed?

Apparently someone heard me because the post was removed after I tweeted about it.

This Summer, the Doctor had to fight against the abandoned car near her business in Bay Ridge, the homeless colony who made tents in the park, the pooping outside her place and the constant smell of urine at the start of each day.

Brooklyn Bay Seafood Restaurant in Bay Ridge

Update: 9/11/19  It Opened!

This is what you see as you enter the restaurant.

Nice lighting….This guy was starting his first day there….too bad the shark ate him.

Cute counter-height tables in the front of the place.

This was glowing on the side wall – it looked cool.

Brooklyn Bay Seafood is a new restaurant that opened at 7026 – 3rd Avenue (corner of 71st Street).   Phone: 718-333-5835.

August update:  They put up a nicer sign claiming and it is a seafood restaurant (because some people thought it was going to be a seafood store).

In Mid-July, they had up a fence because they gutted the old place and installed new windows.

This corner has not been an easy spot for restaurateurs, so we wish the new owner a lot of success!  It isn’t easy to open a business anywhere these days.

The business before this was Ginny’s $5 -$9 restaurant.  Very nice lady, but she was paying a lot of rent for the place. (See here)

Before it was Ginny’s,  Mama’s Greek Restaurant was there.  Before that, Bon Chovie was there. Before that, it was Pashazade (I loved that place0. And before Pashazade’s, this was the home of  The Water Grill.  The location has not been easy, but that’s about to change as we bless it with good fortune and happiness.

Shout Out to the Coalition Against the 3rd Avenue Bid

Shoutout to the Coalition Against the Third Avenue Bid in BayRidge. See their website.

Whose in the Coalition? A lot of the small businesses who know us, love us and make this community great!

We are sorry to those businesses at the start of the Avenue, who have experienced a lot of pooping. See here (if you click, you will see poop, so don’t click if that will make you choke). Tent City took hold of the area for a bit. I am glad to see it being resolved

I voted for Justin Brannan because I thought he understood that these stores build the community. I didn’t think he would let them stand divided this long, as he used to say: “Bay Ridge was a small town in a big city.”

Do you know how many of these small businesses donate items to multiple school fundraisers?

Small business owners made this community great. #NoOverRide #NoNewTaxes

If you support the Coalition of Business Owners, here’s a sign to print (you can see them in stores all over 3rd Avenue)

No disrespect to the steering committee, but this isn’t right. Whoever is running the “Make a Bid on Third Facebook account is clueless and speaking inappropriately to a business woman in our area. THIS IS NOT OKAY!!! No one should be speaking to the business owners in our area!    Councilman Brannan should not allow this!! Our tax dollars are paying to harass someone who invested in our community.

How do they not have a clue who she is? Oh yeah…they are outsiders!

This businesswoman and many other smart business people have spoken out against the BID because they don’t need a new boss. This business woman has been dealing with the 68th Precinct and NCO’s to stop tent city (the homeless formed some areas to live in the park near her), people pooping and being inappropriate.

As you can see, The BID organizers are so detached that they don’t know who she is and they haven’t been supporting her in cleaning up near her property….which is keeping our community nice. Thank you Lisa!!
