September 24, 2019Fig & Olive Tree Restaurant – Bay Ridge Closed
So sad to see that Fig and Olive Tree Restaurant on 3rd Avenue and 71st closed. They were open for a little over two years.
They sold flavorful Moroccan/Egyptian food. If you tried any of their tangine dishes, you understand the loss. I knew they were having a hard time, but I thought being on seamless would have helped them.
To the owners, Nadia & Said – you will be missed. Thank you for having a great place for us.

September 23, 2019What if Joe Saladino Beats Nicole Malliotakis?
I noticed that Gale mentioned candidate, Joe Saladino here
What if Saladino beats Nicole Mallitakis in the Republican primary?
Staten Island is home to a lot of Republicans who would like Joseph Saladino’s forward nature, his Youtube platform and his #ForgottenNoMore hashtag. See his platform here.
While Malliotakis said she wished she didn’t vote for Trump, Saladino supports Trump. See here. That statement is going to hurt Malliotakis in this election.
Also in the election is Staten Island’s Michael Grimm and maybe another candidate. A lot can happen before 2020!
