Bay Ridge’s New Cameras and Patrols

Bay Ridge residents are glad to see the 68th Precinct paroling late at night and in the early morning.

At the meeting this evening, the NYPD explained that they installed cameras on Shore Road from 69th Street to the Verrazzano Bridge.

They have asked that if you have a camera in front of your home to make sure it’s facing the street.
If you have a light in front of the house, turn it on at night to light up the street.

Hopefully this continues!

Congratulations to Linda Sarsour, who has published her memoir, entitled  We Are Not Here to Be Bystanders: A Memoir of Love and Resistance. What a great title!

The amazing volunteers at Bay Ridge Community Cats , along with My Natural Pet are having a for a straw and Styrofoam cooler giveaway on December 1, 2019 at 12 PM – 3 PM!
They will give you directions and talk you through the easy cat shelter construction.
My Natural Pet is at 8318 – 5th Avenue.

Peace By Piece Thrift Store is Opening in Bay Ridge
Update: Peace by Piece Thrift Store in Bay Ridge accepts donations of everything but baby equipment (strollers, cribs, etc) and large furniture.
Peace By Piece Thrift Store hung a sign where Circles Restaurant used to be at 6913 -3rd Avenue.
Peace by Piece is a thrift Stores that uses some money to run programs for the community. From the website, it appears it has a Christian religious affiliation as well.

The Father K Movie will be shown in Bay Ridge for free, but donations go to Yalla. #LOL
Yalla knows that El-Yateem’s former staffer works for Councilman Brannan. Let’s keep it real Yalla. Movies can be made, but people here know what happened. Most people who work on a campaign wouldn’t take a job with the opponent, who they trashed. Do they just pretend everything was dream and that everything they fought for didn’t matter or wasn’t that important?
The Stand4 Gallery is showing this…..which is interesting. The movie left some important things about the election – the money Kadia Goba reported about here. I wonder if they will be showing the the new Inshallah Movie. See here

Who I Am Not Celebrating With This Year: BRD

The Bay Ridge Democrats are having a party on December 18th with free food, beer and wine.
It’s nice that there is a canned food drive for a local pantry component.
Shouldn’t we see a change in the way things are done? All we see is one type of special interest replaced with other type of special interest group….but it’s all the the same to people who live here.
We wouldn’t celebrate with a group who has forgotten about the middle class and become part of the red tape of NYC.
