Ridge Kids at 8122 – 3rd Avenue. They are having a sale on Winter clothes for kids – very nice Spring outfits for kids!
Of course the rainbow and shamrocks in the window caught my attention – so beautiful!

February 18, 2020When Justin Brannan’s Politics Comes Before His Constituents
A Queens Councilman wrote that the NYC Progressive Caucus supported a no rollback on the bail reform bill.
WAIT. Isn’t Councilman Brannan part of the Progressive Caucus? I went to check – Yes, he still is part of that group.
A 31 year-old Bay Ridge woman was sexually assaulted in the bathroom of the 95th Street Train Station. The woman fought off her attacker as he pulled down her pants in an attempt to rape. This Bay Ridge woman fought like hell for herself. A man banged on the door outside, but ultimately the woman was strong enough to fight off her attacker. Just a month before, her attacker was in jail since December 2018. These are the facts that were printed in many newspapers. See here.
On social media, Justin Brannan never said that the Bay Ridge woman was attacked by someone who was released because of bail reform. The young man was in jail since December 2018 and was released in December 2019. Brannan actually blamed the judge for the situation happening!
Justin Brannan should not be supporting the bill as it stands because a woman in his area was hurt by this law. Politics aside – people are what matters and the Bay Ridge woman should not be collateral damage of NYS Politician’s laws.
If this assault happened to Mrs. Brannan, you wouldn’t be reading this writing right now. Justin Brannan would have called for immediate bail reform. But because the woman who was assaulted isn’t someone Brannan knows, he doesn’t care. In case you are not aware, a NYC law changed sooo fast after Mrs. Brannan’s store was ticketed. See here
You will notice the Progressive Caucus’ statement is dated February 15th – Councilman Brannan was active on both Facebook and Twitter. He didn’t share his support for the Progressive Caucus on social media because he knows Bay Ridge residents won’t accept politics over people. That woman is someone’s sister, friend, neighbor and she’s one of us. What happened should NEVER happen to any woman and Justin Brannan should be voicing that, instead of hiding it.

February 18, 2020When Brooklyn Doesn’t Understand The Law…..
![]()
A Brooklynite recently shared this video (below) on social media. I asked her if I could share it.
Most people first notice the child doesn’t have a helmet. Did you notice the older male drive is wearing a helmet.
The little boy is holding on, but nothing is securing him on the bike.
I shared the video to friends who say they see parents in Dyker Heights taking their children to school like this all the time. One person even saw a NYPD car driving behind someone who had their child on back and they were not stopped.
This isn’t safe and a child is going to get hurt eventually.

February 17, 2020Bay Ridge Socialists Meeting – February 23rd
When the annual Martin Luther King March in Bay Ridge was cancelled this year, I thought something must have happened to one the leaders of the Bay Ridge Socialists.
Now the Socialists are having a meeting to organize an anti-hate visibility march. Eeek why does it have to be called an “anti-hate march.” It’s just so harsh!
The meeting is on Sunday, February 23rd, from 4 to 6 PM at the Arab American Association at 7111 Fifth Avenue. Normally, they don’t meet there, so something has changed.
These Socialists are clever because they became members of the Bay Ridge Democrats. Did you notice that the Bay Ridge Democrats are pushing Bernie Sanders? And there has been no pushback from regular Democrats.

February 17, 2020Gounardes Says the City Won’t Respond to Illegal Conversions
There there was a rally where people discussed the fire and 29 people living in a one family home. See video:
Liam McCabe has always been interested in this.
Senator Gounardes needs to call a meeting with Mayor de Blasio because the Mayor wants to make basement apartment and tiny houses in people’s backyards legal. I’m not joking – see here.
On Kings County Politics site, Liam McCabe is featured in the photo below with Dyker Heights residents and shared about the issue.

Even though I don’t live in Dyker Heights, my friends do. I have written to tto Councilman Brannan and asked him to bring Mayor de Blasio to Dyker Heights. Initially, Brannan was very positive about it, but then didn’t want to.

February 17, 2020NYC Trains With Bad Graffiti
![]()
Years ago, graffiti used to a lot better! If you are going to decorate the train – do it well!
A group went and painted the trains. See story here. That graffiti doesn’t even have character.
Graffiti in Williamsburg still does:
Now the MTA is going to make sure the area is secure. See story

February 17, 2020When You Return To Your Car in Bay Ridge…
![]()
Our neighbor shared the picture above taken today on 89th Street between Narrows and Colonial in Bay Ridge. Imagine being the owner of the SUV and seeing your vehicle like that?
![]()
The above picture was taken today at 67th Street and 6th Avenue. Another car jacked up and without wheels.
Three days ago, Councilman Brannan shared the picture and comments below. Has anyone seen patrol cars in the area?
![]()
Narrows Avenue
The Neighborhood Policing Program isn’t working and neither Councilman Brannan or the 68th Precinct are willing to hear that.
The 68th Precinct has known about this problem for awhile:
