Captain Conwell’s letter discussed the theft of  wheels for the 2018 – 2020 Honda Accords and Toyota Camrys. This week there were a few  wheel theft robberies – see here

Park your vehicle close to the curb and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right or left.

Call 911 for suspicious activity around a vehicle.

Use wheel locks on your vehicle. 

Park in well-lit areas. 

Install a dashboard camera.

Gunshots Heard at 4:00 am on 92nd Street

Police were called because people heard gunshots at 373 – 92nd Street around around 4:00 am this morning.

No one was found hurt and no one saw the person shooting a gun.

The Citizen App says that the police found shell casings (who knows if that is real). See video of the police in the area

Running Car with 11-Year-Old Taken….Boy Let Go

On Tuesday morning, a mother drove her SUV and ran into a store on 86th Street.

She left her Toyota Rav 4 running with her 11-year-old son inside.

A thief got in and drove the car away.

Is a Hotel Going Next to the New School?

The old Nathan’s site is becoming an intermediate school.  Next to Nathan’s lot is the old Sunoco Gas Station lot. 

 Councilman Brannan shared that is not going to be a hotel, but rather a car dealership.

That area is zoned for a hotel.

Staten Island Man Arrested for Purse Snatching in Dyker Heights

Twenty-four year old Manuel Chavez of Staten Island was arrested for knocking down two senior citizens and taking their purses!

How does a twenty-four year old man decide that robbing a senior citizens is okay?  Most people want to help seniors!   

Chavez took the purse of an 81-year-old woman Dyker Heights woman. She fought back because she didn’t want him to have her bag with the papers in it. Chavez pushed the woman to the ground and she hit her head on a metal fence.

On January 24th, Chavez took a 66 year old woman’s bag in Staten Island.
