February 27, 2020New Items at Schnitzel Haus
![]()
When you see a restaurant adding items to their menu, it means the owner is still interested in their business and engaging the community. Schnitzel Haus at 7310 – 5th Avenue has been busy with some new items!
![]()
Last week, they added pierogiesto the menu. Yhe owner specifically discussed adding different types for vegans. I am not vegan, but someone in my family is and some friends are as well. When they are in Bay Ridge, I need restaurants which have options for vegans. The Impossible Burger doesn’t cut it for most of the vegans I know.

If you order from Schnitzel Haus, Fred, the owner usually delivers it. Lee loves meat and he loves the way they cook it at Schnitzel Haus.
The bad thing about Schnitzel Haus is the only way you can get egg noodles is if you order Beef Goulash. Why can’t someone get a little side dish of egg noodles?

February 26, 2020Things on Third is Closing
Things on Third at 7815 – 3rd Avnue is closing. So sorry to see this gift shop closing, but the owner is going to continue sell customized items through their page
The owner, Angela wrote this:
Dear Friend,
It is with a heavy heart that I send this Letter to notify you that Things On Third will be closing it’s doors.
Beginning Today February 26th all regularly priced merchandise will be 25% off and Christmas is 50% off. In addition to the merchandise all of the furniture, shelving and fixtures will also be available for purchase.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported Things on Third for the past three and a half years. I have been working in brick and mortar stores for 18 years and it has been a pleasure being part of the Bay Ridge community. While getting to know you and your families, I have developed many lasting friendships and for that I am eternally grateful.
Although this chapter of my life may be closing this isn’t farewell. I plan to continue my custom work. Please look out for me on Facebook. ** Angela Arena or my like page Things On Third.
There are no goodbyes… see you soon.
Your Friend,
Angela

February 25, 2020Bay Ridge Needs a Leader Like This
Bay Ridge, we need someone like this to represent us. He is intelligent and passionate and not afraid!
Instead, we have politicians who appear to be afraid of de Blasio and Corey Johnson. None will speak out against them.

February 25, 2020RIP Patience Albert
She was only ten years old and on the way to school with her older brother.
Patience Brown was killed by a 61-year-old school bus driver this morning in East New York, Brooklyn. See here and here
A family is without their daughter and sister…..changed forever. Patience’s older sister was on television tonight and she spoke so lovingly about Patience. More kind words here
A school is without one of their students and there must have been a lot of sad fourth graders in Brooklyn.
No one in NYC seems to have the solution on how to calm the streets.
Prayers for Patience’s family. If you have a moment, say a prayer for them because they are going to have a hard road ahead of them. Patience’s brother saw this happen – seriously, nothing could be worse than that! God please help him.
RIP Patience.

Julianne Cuba used to be a journalist hero.
She reported the truth and politicians tried to call her a liar for reporting about them.
Then something happened. And now she wants to ride without a bell.

Go install the damn bell, Julianne. Then you can keep picking at drivers for their infractions and ignoring the law.
