August 9, 2025New Bay Ridge Citibike Story From CBS
<
Bay Ridge residents are fighting to stop the oversaturation of Citibikes in Bay Ridge. Fifty stations of Citibikes were planned for the area. Several great Ridgites were featured in the newscast.
When this project was announced, Councilman Justin Brannan was running for NYC Comptroller. I’m surprised he didn’t call a meeting with Citibike and Ydanis to talk about a smaller amount of stations to start with this year.

August 9, 2025Traffic From a Casino Would Crush Coney Island

If you drive a car in Coney Island on a cold Winter day, there is no traffic in the quiet area. During the Summer and especially during special events, the area is packed!
The Brooklyn Paper stated that thousands of people would be visiting the casino daily. Marissa Solomon shared that at the initial meeting on July 30th. Solomon questioned The Coney representatives: “Two new traffic lights and some new stripes, is that really going to be able to handle what your own report says is going to be a complete breakdown in traffic?”
This project should have never gotten this far. As soon as Councilman Justin Brannan saw these numbers, he should have spoken out because he hasn’t added any substantial infrastructure to support more traffic. See article:
