Andy Almonte, the manager of Food Dynasty 86 Street wrote:
I’ve been reading & receiving a lot of calls about our store being closed and our cashiers being infected with the virus. This is FALSE!
One of our older, most loyal cashiers has been out for MONTHS taking care of her elderly & sick husband, who has been sick way before this virus came about. She advised us that her husband recently got tested and his test came out positive. As a precaution, she took a test as well and came out negative! She is no longer working at the store and hasn’t been for many months.
Our store was taking necessary precautions given the flow of people entering and leaving the store. We closed an hour early just to disinfect the entire store to make sure it is safe & clean for our customers. We did not close because “a cashier was infected.” We are working round the clock to make sure that our store is constantly supplied and clean.
We appreciate the concern but please do not spread unnecessary rumors. This just causes a scare and hurts businesses like ours that need to be open so that we may provide for our community. Many people rely on us for their daily necessities. If you any concerns you may contact me or the store directly (ask for Andy). 718-256-9500
I always loved Kenny Rogers. In high school, I would never admit to listening to him. But his voice is amaing. I’m surprised there wasn’t more of a tribute for him!
Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus and a group of volunteers dropped off meals to seniors at Ocean Towers, O’Dwyer Gardens, Surfside Gardens, and Sea Park North in Coney Island.
Lee went out this morning to the doctor this morning.
He stopped into 5 Borough Market and noticed that the store was well-stocked – no shortage of toilet paper or paper towels. Our neighbor told him they were hard to find the other day.
5 Borough Market is on 4th Avenue and 85th Street.
Lee said the streets were empty this morning and there were six parking spots to choose from – usually he has to drive around to find one.
