Baptism Party in Bay Ridge

baptism party bay ridge brooklyn

A lot of people hold Baptism, Communion and Confirmation parties around the church where the sacrament is administered because it is easy for all the guests to find a spot once in Bay Ridge. If you are looking to rent an empty party room and bring your own food – see here.

Here are some restaurants that are used for Baptism parties:

  • Hunter’s Steak House – it’s near St. Pat’s Church – a lot of room, good food and a private room. They can do a buffet as well.

  • Greenhouse Cafe – 7717 3rd Avenue – very reasonably priced – they have three packages. Atrium in the back for small groups, larger groups use the side room. I’ve had several parties at the Greenhouse Cafe and everyone likes it here

  • Gino’s – good Italian food – everyone loves this place

  • Cebu has different menu options in several price ranges. Around $30 a person – $28?

  • Vesuvios – reasonable price – a lot of food.

  • Sofias – a bit more expensive, but very nice

  • Brunch at Wicked Monk – good and a nice laid back atmosphere for a party – no private room, but they do put the tables together in the back

  • Bridgeview Diner – reasonably priced, back room, not as fancy

  • Fushimi – My family has a lot of people who don’t eat sushi so it’s not good for our family parties, but I know some people who had a great time there.

    In Dyker Heights:

    • Mama Raos
    • Meze – Greek Food – 6601 – 13th Avenue
    • Dyker Beach Golf Course – larger, fancier, more $
    • Gennero’s has valet parking and is good for a larger party

Staten Island Restaurants that we went to for Christening Parties

  • Zest Restaurant 977 Bay Street

  • Bocelli’s

  • Enoteca Maria

  • Angelina’s

  • Da Noi

  • Bassilio Inn – good Italian food – near the bridge

Gounardes Joins a Rent Bill on March 30th

The NYS Senate had a rent bill. Why didn’t Senator Andrew Gounardes join that rent bill and work with those senators to refine the bill.

Instead he was tweeting nonsense. On March 30th, Gounardes announced he was supporting an alternate rent bill. That bill hasn’t been passed for tomorrow, April 1st.

How does Gounardes face people and tell them that he only joined the rent bill this late?

Every year, the state lawmakers gather and rush a budget through instead of taking their time and making cuts where necessary. This year was no different. Why? Because these are not proactive people representing us. They aren’t taking the care and diligence to do the job well.

The Coronavirus Pandemic isn’t people’s fault and politicians should have had people’s backs.  Having someone’s back doesn’t mean hopping on an alternate bill right before April 1st and not providing immediate relief for people.

Gounardes tweeted that the Senate will work on Property Tax Bill next week – yeah right. You and I both know the senate isn’t going to help Bay Ridge home owners.  If they were going to do it, they would have done it right after the NYC property tax commission’s work came back incomplete. Instead Gounardes got a bill for the bike community passed.

Do you remember how fast Senator Gounardes pushed the bill to give tickets to cars speeding to school zones?  Sadly, he hasn’t pushed any other bills through like that money-maker.

If You Own a Business Buy a New Camera

The 68th Precinct Detectives are attempting to identify the man above. He is  wanted for grand larceny. See tweet

The package theft happened over a month ago (on 02/23/2020)  in the vicinity of 11th Avenue and 81st Street.

While it’s good to get the message out, the blurry picture is useless.  The technology here is too old!

Even a $99 camera purchased from Best Buy this year will give better quality than that camera.

If you know the blurry guy – call the NYPD  718-439-4236.

Tomorrow – Light the Night in Bay Ridge

Luminaries? We don’t have luminaries. But I am going to get out some battery operated candles.

I don’t think any doctors or healthcare professionals are going to see these lights – it’s better to join one of the coffee or pizza funds to show support.
