A few reminders:

1. Coaches discount (2 per team) of 50% will be given towards the end of the season.

2. On the application it’s mandatory field to Select Yes or No to Coach.

3. Also, it’s mandatory to write something in the Notes Field – place Team requests…this is the ONLY field we’ll look at when rostering

No requests via email…This info is to be placed in the notes field.

NYPD Shared a Robbery From July 16th TODAY

WANTED FOR A ROBBERY: On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 9:25 pm on 20th Avenue and 83rd Street four unidentified individuals approached a 20-year-old male victim from behind and punched and kicked the victim throughout the body.

They robbed his cellphone, Apple Air Pods, necklace, and keys. They fled on foot, traveling southbound on 20th Avenue to parts unknown.

Owls Head Court – Cars Damaged Overnight

These two cars were damaged on Owls Head Court overnight because a pickup truck drove up on them.

1672 – 86th Street: Battery Energy Storage System Station

Senator Steve Chan confirmed that at 1672 – 86th Street, a BESS station is being planned. BESS stands for: Battery Energy Storage System Station. Senator Chan said that there is no application with the Department of Buildings yet.

People are against BESS stations near their homes because they have safety concerns (fires from the batteries).

Community Education Council 20 Discussed the New Cell Phone Policy at Schools

District 20’s CEC met tonight to talk about the upcoming school year. One thing they addressed was the new cell phone storage at schools.

Each school will be storing the cell phones differently and principals will share information with the parents in September.

Grand Larceny is Way Up in the 68th Precinct in Bay Ridge – August 2025

Grand theft was high in Bay Ridge last week. Grand larceny means the value of the item taken was over $1000. This includes theft, stealing bikes and identity theft crimes too.

There were two incidents of grand theft auto in our area last week:

Last year at this time, there were only seven grand larceny crimes. Last week, there were 17 grand larceny crimes!

Tuesday was the day with the most grand larceny crimes.
