A neighbor shared that the Mailbox on 96th Street and Marine Avenue had garbage stuffed in it and gum was put inside to catch people’s envelopes with checks. Thieves like to steal the checks, whitewash them and empty people’s checking accounts. Like other mailboxes in the area, it will probably be removed. (Info here)
