A Ribbon Cutting Isn’t Needed for GrowNYC….It is Needed for Small Businesses in Bay Ridge

Years ago, the Farmer’s Market at the Walgreens parking lot was a great addition to our area. But now many stores are selling organic vegetables. Why are we bringing in sellers from out of the area to compete with our community’s businesses still?

This market has been in the area for many years, so a ribbon cutting wasn’t necessary.

Councilwoman Kayla Santosuosso had nothing to do with its setup.

Sadly, Kayla Santosuosso has not shown up for one business ribbon-cutting ceremony in our community. The Mom and Pop shops need the publicity.

Santosuosso, a new Mom, failed to mention that a child was seriously hurt on 81st Street this week.

Santosuosso wants to do “politics as usual” in Bay Ridge. She watched Justin Brannan leave the community out of so many things, so she figures she can do the same. Santosusso did a terrible job speaking up for Bay Ridge when Tim Ziss’ new building on 92nd Street (with a supermarket was approved. This property is diagonally across the street from PS 104. What mother would approve a supermarket across the street from a school??? Can you imagine the chaos at dismissal? Ridiculous! Info:

Community Board 10 Survey About Outdoor Dining in Bay Ridge

NYC Council has legislation to make outdoor dining year-round.  See the bill here

CB10 made a survey about roadway cafes, sidewalk cafes, and grocery store cafes in our district. https://shorturl.at/g6OXv

Some businesses in Bay Ridge that had the roadway cafes did not clean and there were rats running on 3rd Avenue. Some businesses made the roadway cafe and didn’t use it. And parking spaces will be taken as well.
