Love Was Found at Owls Head Park. Bay Ridge Animal Lovers Moved Quickly to Get Her Help

This morning, around 5:00 am, Amanda’s brother was walking his dog near Owl’s Head Park. He heard a dog crying and followed the cries until he found an emancipated pitbull lying on the ground. The dog was unable to walk or even stand. Video: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=28020828597575069

Amanda shared the dog’s photo on Facebook and asked the community for help because she tried calling rescues, but none were returning her calls.

A Bay Ridge resident named Camille went to get the dog. She and Melissa named the dog “Love” and took Love to Verg. Verg’s bill was going to be $5000 for the first day. Love was going to need medical care for awhile.

Melissa contacted NYC Second Chance Rescue for help They left Verg and brought Love to Second Chance Rescue’s vet. Love is hospitalized and being cared for now.

Thank you to Melissa, Camille, Amanda and Amanda’s brother for taking care of this dog! I’m glad that there are kind people in Bay Ridge, who are always willing to help animals in need.

Hugs,
marlene
