Free Palestine March in Bay Ridge Today
This afternoon there is a Free Palestine march on 5th Avenue and now on 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge.
I didn’t see any of their flyers this year:
Nakba is on May 15th, but they held the protest on Saturday.
Outside Citibank, the protesters chanted against the bank! They also chanted that the police were the KKK. The police officers did not let the chants bother them – very professional.
There were seven police vans in front of The Bay Ridge Jewish Center on 81st Street and 4th Avenue. There were also police cars lining 4 Avenue. The 68th Precinct called in officers on bikes and made sure to keep the protest under control.
Some protests throughout the city end in protesters getting out of hand. The people are very angry because it is 77 years later – we would be too if this was happening to our family members. The police in Bay Ridge are very calm, organized and professional.
