Many parents don’t want their preteens and teens to be tempted to purchase cannabis. They don’t want their children smelling cannabis regularly while they are walking home from school. The illegal stores have been robbed a lot because this is a cash only business. Parents don’t want their children to be safe in their community.
If you are against cannabis at this location, call:
1) NYS Office of Cannabis Management (888) 626-5151 (Ask for the Licensing Division)
2) NYS Governor’s Office (518) 474-8390
3) NYC Mayor’s Office (212) 306-7660

Justin Brannan’s office was protested against AGAIN today. Did you notice the Councilman’s new green awning?

The people chanted: “Brannan and Gounardes gotta go!” (See here)
They taped their signs against the dispensary onto the window of the office. (See here) One woman, who was pushing a baby stroller, banged on the office window, but the group stopped her (this can be seen in the video.)
Brannan was not at the office to speak with the protesters. Why didn’t Chris McCreight, the Chief of Staff speak to them and take their contact information? Years ago, Brannan and McCreight would mock Republican politician who hid from protesters.
While other NYC Council representatives accompanied the sheriff to close down illegal cannabis shops, Brannan didn’t. (Info)

For over a year, Brannan has been gaslighting Bay Ridge telling us he was going to “get creative” to get these illegal shops. (Info) He didn’t.
On social media, Brannan responded, “One Love” to a person praising a Bay Ridge shop for selling shroom chocolate. (“One Love” is an expression of unity.)

Many people who protested are not against the sale of cannabis – they are against this location because it is near their child’s school.
Hugs,
marlene
