Put Up a Rainbow in Bay Ridge for Pride Month

There are ten days left until June, when Pride month begins.
Three years ago, a member of GayRidge counted all the Pride flags in Bay Ridge and there were hardly any. They shared that less than 1% of businesses in Bay Ridge displayed a pride flag.

This past year, two pride flags were burned in Bay Ridge. Senator Andrew Gounardes didn’t take action and replace the flags in our community.
Councilman Brannan spoke to the newspaper, but he didn’t replace the flag either – the haters won and got rid of the pride flags. (See here)
Sadly, one of the co-directors of GayRidge told the newspaper:

We have to do better Bay Ridge!
On the Shore Road bike path is a rainbow bench dedicated to a teen our community lost in 2020.
