Is There a Bed and Breakfast on 12th Avenue in Dyker Heights?
At a rally held last week in Brooklyn, one resident said that a Bed and Breakfast had opened on 12th Avenue in Dyker Heights.
Neither politician at the rally offered to help the resident because 82nd Street isn’t in their district. *Another example of how redistricting divides communities, so people can’t get help.
We passed the huge house today and expected to see a work crew outside. Instead, it was quiet and there was a SOLD sign on the property.
On the Department of Buildings website, the property received four tickets.
Someone wrote to Councilman Brannan about the property. Councilman Brannan wrote that the property was operating illegally as a hotel/Airbnb.
There are many ways to communicate information to a community. When a person is operating an illegal business, those living on that block should be informed. These residents have been fighting this alone, BUT THEY SHOULDN’T BE!
Councilman Brannan does not need to give out the address to the home, but he should have made Dyker Heights residents, especially those living near this, aware of what was going on.
