A High School Student Was Shot in Brooklyn Today. Who Responded?

Moms Demand Action did not speak out about a teen being shot on 20th Avenue and 62nd Street. (Foridun Maulonou) No one was demanding action – Nothing, Nada, Zilch! This group loves to come out during our elections, but not when real guns come out.
Councilman Ari Kagan – He was the first pol to share information. I liked that he spoke with the police before tweeting.

Senator Iwen Chu – no message on Facebook or Twitter. The following day, Senator Chu posted a message about seniors – nothing about students. (See here)
Assemblyman Lester Chang

Congresswoman Yvette Clark – nothing
Jumaane Williams, NYC Public Advocate – nothing (4 photos of Jumaane) The following day Jumaane mentioned the shooting, but did not take any action.
Councilman Justin Brannan – although the incident didn’t happen in his district, there is a good chance the teen lives in his district. Even if he doesn’t. a teen being shot on 20th Avenue and 62nd Street should have brought some concern. Brannan did not share that a woman was killed in Bay Ridge on Sunday night.
