RIP Ralph Perfetto – Actor & Bay Ridge Activist

So sad to hear that Ralph Perfetto died.

Next Wednesday would have been Ralph’s 89th birthday.
Ralph Perfetto is known for three things: Loving his family, standing up in his community and living his dream of being an actor!
The first time I met Ralph Perfetto, he told me some funny stories and talked about his family. After I went home, I realized I knew his family (and yes, they are as wonderful as he said they were). Each time I ran into him, he always had some interesting stories to share because he knew people all over Brooklyn!
Perfetto was involved in politics in Bay Ridge for many years. He would always speak up for what was right. Coney Island wrote about Perfetto’s contributions in Brooklyn here. Perfetto even continued to run for Democrat District Leader last year.

Finally, Ralph Perfetto LIVED! He always wanted to be an actor, so he became one! From 2008 to 2023, Ralph Perfetto was in many shows and movies. (See list here and here) Perfetto was 85-years-old when he played a monsignor in the movie, The Irishman, staring Robert DiNiro and Joe Pesci. The movie was produced by Martin Scorsese’s and Ralph Perfetto was fantastic in it!
In an interview, Ralph said this:

Most people aren’t so lucky to live their childhood dreams, but Ralph did!
The wake is on Sunday, July 16th from 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Scarpaci Funeral Home at 1401 86th Street.
The mass is on Monday, July 17th at 10:45 am at Saint Andrew’s Church 6713 Ridge Blvd.
Prayers for Ralph’s family. RIP Ralph.

Hugs,
