Possibly Some Justice for Anthony Donofrio

Anthony Donofrio was killed in Bay Ridge in January 2022.
Donofrio was out with friends and was knifed in front of Catrina’s Mexican Grill. Four thousand people signed a petition against Catrina’s. (See petition)
After Donofrio’s death, Gounardes revealed that there was “recklessness and neglect at Catrina’s.” Why didn’t the pols take action then?

This deadly event is part of a dangerous pattern of neglect & recklessness from Catrina’s. It’s clear they don’t care to be good neighbors or follow the law. I’m working with my colleagues in govt & @NYPD68Pct to make clear that the SLA should revoke their liquor license.
Last year, Senator Gounardes and Councilman Brannan shared that they wrote a letter asking for the restaurant’s liquor license to be revoked, but NYS ignored Brannan and Gounardes and renewed Catrina’s liquor license on May 10, 2022. (See here)
Newspapers wrote that Catrina’s license was suspended. (See here and here)
The NYS liquor license site doesn’t show that Catrina’s has a revoked license. Maybe it takes time for it appear on the site. (Site)
I went to look because I was wondering if the restaurant had other problems – did something happen recently?
*If the restaurant is able to open under a new name, then this won’t be much good.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for the murder. (Story here)
RIP Tony.
