Shahana Hanif and Justin Brannan Were Lobbied By Maimonides – Then The Money Flowed
The things that politicians share are what they want you to know, but what they don’t share is just as important.
Maimonides Hospital received over a million dollars from NYC Council.
Last year, Justin Brannan was lobbied for money and he didn’t share that he gave part of Bay Ridge’s budget to Maimonides. (See here)
This year Brannan and Shanna Hanif were lobbied. Neither shared that they gave money to MAIMO or that they were lobbied.
It’s strange that Shahana Hanif claims to be a socialist, but is allowing lobbyists to control her.
Hanif wasn’t in the original first round of lobbying, but was added in the second round. (See below)
What’s even stranger about Shahana Hanif being lobbied for this money is that she isn’t the NYC Council member who represents that area. Alexis Aviles is the NYC representative for that area.
Did they ask Aviles and she said, “No?” Or was Alexis Aviles not included because they knew she wouldn’t fold to lobbyists?
Shahana Hanif has to be aware that Maimonides is doing well. They are opening an emergency center in Bay Ridge. (Source)
The public should be able to vote on the spending by NYC Council representatives, especially when it is out of their district because some of them are being swayed by lobbyists.
