Bay Ridge Events July 31st – August 6th

Sunday, July 31st

1) House Music is being played on the 69th Street Pier from 2 – 8 om. They are bringing a porta-potty to put on the pier too.

2) Bingo at The Leif with Erica at 2:00 pm. 6725 – 5th Avenue

3) Flea Market on 69th Street and 10th Avenue

3) Pushing 60’s At The Leif Bar at 6725 – 5th Avenue at 4 PM

4) Julia Her will perform at Salty Dog Bar & Restaurant – 6:00 – 9:00 PM

Monday, August 1st

Irish Haven in Sunset Park has open mic from 8 -11 pm.

Tuesday, August 2nd

1) Leif Ericson Park – Free beginner tennis lessons 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. for children 6 – 17 on a first come, first serve basis. Our instructors use fun exercises and drills to help teach kids the basics of tennis and discover a sport for life. Register here

Children ages 8-10 years old are typically the first hour, followed by ages 11-13 and then 14-17. When registering please select the time slot that corresponds to your child’s age. Instruction for intermediate-level players is also available at select sites. Once the program begins, the site director will provide more specific schedule information for that park.

2) PC’s Bar at 7215 – 5th Avenue has Bingo in the afternoon with Kim 3:30 – 6:30 pm.

3) The Feast of Our Lady of Angels will be celebrated with a mass and music at 11:45 am. Lunch outside in the 9/11 Memorial yard. Also mass in Spanish at 7:00 pm followed by a reception outside as well. All are welcome!

4) National Night Out by the 68th Precinct at Owl’s Head Park 6-9 pm. The precinct invited everyone to come out:

When Bay Ridge didn’t have a large celebration last year, many people went to the Staten Island NNO.

Wednesday, August 3rd

Toastmasters Online Event – newcomers can observe twice before deciding to join. 7:00 – 8:30 pm. (Info)

Thursday, August 6th

1) Coney Island Silent Disco – West 12th Street – free 1-5 pm

2) The Bay Ridge Peace Action Vigil Against Nuclear Weapons at 2:00 pm at John Paul Jones Park – 4th Avenue and 101st Street

3) Spodie Odie Band is playing at The Leif starting at 4:00 pm.

5) Greenhouse Cafe – Martin McQuade Sings – A Marilyn and Elvis Tribute 7-10 pm.
