RIP Ruzhu Xie. Fatal Scooter Crash On Fort Hamilton Parkway and 59th Street Yesterday
Yesterday around 2:30 pm, Ruzhu Xie, a 57-year-old woman died on Fort Hamilton Parkway and 59th Street in Borough Park.
She was riding her scooter and hit the door of a car. “She was ejected from the scooter and thrown onto the roadway and under the semi-truck, which ran over her, according to police.” (Explained here) How awful!

The victim on the scooter was knocked down to the ground from suddenly the double parked car opening the door, and she was ran over by a few inch away truck driving up from the side crushing her upper body and head. The tire of the truck was huge. She was carefully riding her scooter with traffic but the other driver suddenly opened her car door and a truck drove up and ran over her. How scary!

Absolutely awful – I am surprised no one was charged.
This woman’s family must be devastated.
